Using a harness is an air issue,dogs who gasp for air cause they puulig too hard in protction work.so you should always use the harness because it is easier on the dog and you should always use equipment to make your dogs life easier where he can give you his all.equipment is never used because you like it a certain way or not,it is for the benifet of your dog so he can perform his job right.you always need the right tool to do the job right.it has nothing to do with what you the handler like.always set your dog up to sucseed.have a nice one.

sue,,, been there done that,,, try to explain to your vet how your dog ruptured a blood vessel in the eye,,,"oh, he .was pulling so hard on his leash to try and bite someone" . i just hide mine untill the red goes away.
cant say i have ever seen anyone go wrong with a harness. especially if you have good helpers that can work a dog in one.
