We found rooms at the Courtesy Inn, 8 miles from event, $70./night. Not sure what we'll find when we get there, but at least this place doesn't have a drive-up check-in window. I plan to arrive about 4 pm.

I hope my dog doesn't get romantic looking at himself on the ceiling.

Wouldn't be surprised... I'm taking my sleeping bag, pillow, Clorox wipes and my own towels. If we don't like what we see its CAMPING in the van.

I will be out on Sunday for the breed survey. Lucky for me I can make it a day trip. Not too bad of a drive in the A.M., a bit of traffic coming home though.....I'm a stone's throw from the Goethal's bridge, so not too bad of a drive out there, I can avoid the GWB, etc. etc.

The event was very good, even if the weather was NOT. The FH was cancelled due to hard rain and 25-35 mph gusting winds on Friday morning, definitely the best decision! I didn't see the SchH tracking, but I believe all dogs passed.
The club was incredibly hospitible, well-organized (YEAH GERI!), made me feel like family the minute I got there. Helmut Konig needs no introduction. He is as fair and accurate a judge of temperament as anyone in the history of the sport, very positive critiques and super with novice handlers. Always a pleasure to compete under Konig! The helper work was good and safe, Tom giving his all to catch more than a couple of serious working-line BANGERS.
Both the dogs I entered passed their BH's, + one AD, and we did okay in the ring, albeit not against a lot of competition.
Special thanks to Tom and Tori and Bob, who put me up for a cople of nights, tolerated me and my bark-machines in their homes and driveways. The whole club is very special. I look forward to entering events at the club in spring, when I'll have more youngsters going for more advanced titles.
Congratulations to everyone who braved the weather to host and support the event, earning well-deserved titles, show ratings and breed surveys!
