That is what I am talking about Shelly! Who are these rich people going to week long seminars?? Are there leashes made of silk and the collars out of platinum? Can we ask Phil to tell us who went to his week long camp the week before? I want to ask these people for a freaking JOB!!!!! I won't be doggybagging any extra rolls but times are tough so I will go to what I can afford.

Pat,
What do you think people do, when they take vacations? They spend a week "somewhere" doing "something" that gives them joy and pleasure/enjoyment to do, whether it is basking on a beach with a book in Hawaii, hiking in the Rockies, rock-climbing in Yosemite, sight-seeing in New York, or Paris, or where ever. Schutzhund folks simply do "schutzhund-stuff" for vacations: attending a World or National championship, a weeken-end or week-long seminar, a trip to Euroe to see the BSP and visit some clubs and kennels. I cannot recall the last time I had a "vacation" that was not dog-related.
It is not a matter of being "rich," poor or otherwise. It is a matter of the fact that schutzhund, almost by definition is NOT a cheap past-time. It has been my experience that 99.99999% of the people in schutzhund have money for exactly whatever they WANT to have money for, whether that be an imported dog, a new rig to transport the dogs, a dog-trailer, or a "doggy-related vacation." Most of the folks I know in schutzhund are decidedly "blue collar" and they also seem to be the ones with the most dogs (imported and otherwise), the biggest trucks and biggest trailers simultaneously, and every damn one of them has a house on SEVERAL acres, sometimes in one of the highest-priced real estate areas in the country. Their dogs wear stainless steel collars and they use leather or pleather leashes. Silk won't work!

Nia nailed it. Right now I would much rather do a week long seminar then take a cruise. Of course I would prefer one hosted at our club since I hate to fly!

I totally agree!

Escuse me?????? I don't know you and that was uncalled for. I was just saying Nia has a point as many do spend vacations doing dog related things. For years I spent all my vacation time and money going to horse competitions, now I'm doing dog sport so my vacation time and money is spent there. Don't get pissy with me just because I do have that option. It's not my fault you don't.

Vacation? What's that? Here's a pic of MY gold-plated rig. The back hatch door doesn't work anymore, held open with a 2x4, can't find the parts that attach to the pneumatic lifts to fix it. Sure hope it makes it to Long Island next weekend. LOL -SS

How the heck does one edit a post from the 18th on the 21st, when it is only the 19th today? Is Rod Serling in the house???

I haven't tested it Nia but it is probably somthing as simple as their date/time clock on the computer was set wrong. I have accidently changed the day month and or year before when I have clicked on the calander. Very easy to do in error.
