4pack

I didn't hear my male bark until he was about 9 months, then a couple more months went by before he barked again at something that caught his eye while kenneled up. Still never has barked at anything while in the house and he's almost 2. He's no sissy, just not much sets him off. Maybe I'll have somebody come act like a freak outside my door or windows one night and see if he lights up.

I agree with those that say your dog is still a baby, he may only need time to mature or you may need to throw a little suspect at him down the road, to wake him up to the fact that, the world isn't a box of chocolates.

Thank you all so much for shedding light in this matter...I really appreciate the time you've all put into this. I'vee learnt so much already from your various insights.

Personally, I'd like to think that the fellow is still a pup, I'm just worried that once he gets old and beyond a certain point, that I won't be able to train him. However, I'm sure being of the breed that he is, adaptability should come to him no?

What then would you suggest I could do, to alert him say to a stranger....without the risk of him actually attacking him? I don't really have access to an evaluation center and neither do I have the same for a trainer proper. So any further thoughts would be more than welcome:)

thanks again and cheers to you all!
