However at the end of the day a great loss to the breed in the UK

I have had 2 dogs from Tom and Julie in the past and I have to say the paperwork was all in order and ready for my collection before my cheque had cleared. I have known Tom and Julie for nearly 10 years and have always found them to be honest and straight forward, so therefore I find the statement made by Wacky rather hard to believe and if untrue, could be considered a defamatory statement.

Just for your informatiom Wacky is very good friends with Ansgar and i know her personally and she would have no reason to lie to anyone on here.

<<

Why don't all you people who need to put there minds at rest about Alfons contact Mr Kartheiser direct to find out why!!  he as no need to publish his dogs death here.>>

this is why so many health issue's get covered up or swept under the rug in this breed.  no one is willing to discuss causes of death or anything. JMO

you had such a prominent YOUNG stud who has had QUITE A FEW LITTERS, already, I feel people have the right to know why a dog died at such a young age.

I don't see what the big deal is.  You had a well known stud die young, and people get offended when you ask why the dog died.  Sure I can go ask the owners for myself, doesn't mean I will get an answer.  just like asking on here doesn't mean I will get an answer either.  they posted publicly about not being in business with Langenbergert anymore, and have failed to state why and have also failed to state why the dog died after repeated questioning.  They started this thread, why not reply?  is there something to hide by not posting publicly?

and by they, I am referring to either Astana kennel owners, or who ever started this thread

I agree with you Uber Land, I also asked the question on another thread about this young dogs death. I heard that he died of an infection and then received a PM telling me it was a HEART infection! I would think that a heart infection would be congenital and I would also think that the people who have progeny from him or are considering buying progeny from him would think long and hard about the possible repercussions somewhere down the road. At the very least they could inform their vet about the possibility of there being a problem and their vets could do a very thorough check up of their pups/older dogs hearts on a regular basis. The owner(s) owe a complete and honest explanation of the cause of death and the breeders/owners of his progeny owe people that are purchasing a puppy/progeny from him a complete and honest explanation, it's the right thing to do! It should be posted for all to see, people should not have to be investigators and search for the real information! Anyone who says differently are most likely trying to hide the real problem.

Infections aren't congenital.  Heart *defects* can be, but not infections.  And a dog can acquire an infection affecting the heart from something as simple as an undetected abscessed tooth...so let's not read too much into things until someone can provide an actual necropsy report.
