The biggest shame is that said "charging elephant" didn't smack one or both owners with a huge foot or trunk. 

That would have put a stop to this kind of nonsense (abuse?).  It should have been stopped before it ever started.

Stupid should be painful.  If these idiots want to subject themselves to that kind of crap for a few dollars (don't know what the "prize" is) that's fine.  They're taking a dog who has been taught that disobeying a command will result in a correction and placing it in harms way.  UNACCEPTABLE!

I'm sure that all those (ok, not so recent) elephant attacks at circuses, etc. were from elephants that were deemed "safe" too. 

They should both have their dogs taken from them and then be charged with animal abuse.

No, the dog that won that session , is owner dominated and isnt the brightest kernal on the corn stalk.

I don't know if the elephant was that bad...

I heard about a police-dog "test" that an acquaintance's dog failed. They tried to land a helicopter on him and he broke the down. Imagine that?!

And here I was thinking it was about Greatest American dogs (personally I was going to say my late Clea) but after the post I am glad I have no clue on what the hell  you are talking about !!!!! :) it sounds stupid and not worth my time.

It's a TV show, EK.  A really stupid TV show.

I've been following it and was in complete shock at that episode!  Not only did the dog have to stay while an elephant came towards it... for the elimination challenge they had to jump off a ledge about 30 feet in the air.  Stupidest American Dog?  I know my dogs would never make it in that show... and I'm proud of it   For the most part it has been a great let down as it is really focused on the owners, not the dogs... but most viewers probably wouldn't appreciate a show really based on the dogs as it may not be as entertaining... I mean how many people watch the different dog competitions aired?  Probably not as many as are watching this show.  And for Victoria... I like her show "It's Me or the Dog" but this show is making her look like a snooty bitch.
