The second problem is you dont know what your spouting about. A king shepherd has been discussed on this base for years and same conclusion.

Some woman wanted a fun thing to make money with and she bred a bunch of muck and got just that. They have bad reputations on health, and are not a gsd.

They are not worth taliking about here.

King Shepherd is just what it is:

A King Shepherd,

and a German Shepherd Dog is.......... WELL, a German Shepherd Dog

Sorry to tell ya, 2 very different breeds..............

Like Hodie said, Love your dog.

I think that's really nice that you took the time to dna your dog to find it's heritage,
have fun training and hanging out together!

Good luck to you; my friends and I have had many variations on crossing wolves, GSD's and Rottys; our experience has been that the pups have been genetically superior to both of the parents, but too intelligent for being a pet for sale or a gift to the general population. You have more than likely bred canine geniuses that will wind up in rescue for want of humans that are smart enough to give them a home that they well deserve.

WAKE UP PEOPLE      THIS PERSON IS A JOKE  THIS WAS FROM ANOTHER THREAD  EARLIER THIS YEAR.

Again, there is no appropriate portion of this message board to post information on variations of the GSD breed other than this one, and there probably will not be one in the forseeable future.

Look on the bright side - I did not go out and dump $2000 on a Shiloh Shepherd and get up here and whine about her dysplasia and intestinal problems.

In defense of the breeders of the King Shepherd, they seem to have bred out the physical and mental problems inherent to most american bred GSD's; on the downside, I see most of these canines winding up in recovery, as they will be too much for their owners to deal with. I would not buy or keep another Shepherd of any kind once Nicole passes on; at my 54 years of age, she is almost more than I can handle with my advancing arthritis. I have a large off the leash acreage provided by my company that she can play at and socialize with other dogs until she is worn out, and it is a godsend; I destroyed 2 pairs of shoes in 6 months walking her before the off the leash area opened!

That post (of mine) was NOT a joke; my sister and family friends have bred wolf hybrids, Siberian Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, GSD's, and (unfortuately) German Shothaired Pointers. The only reason my sister gave up breeding Goldens is that they are a real handfull when you are over 60, and she got tired of competing against all the mid-Michigan puppy mills.

Note:

To any breeders in the midwestern USA; accept only cashiers checks as payment for your puppies....period.

No Mam you did not come on here but with one reason.

One thing is certain; the King Shepherd is NOT a dog for typical americans - the intelligence and power of this breed is phenominal, and far beyond the ability of most people to keep as a companion. They need real estate for proper excercise, and constant human companionship, or they will become destructive...VERY destructive.

You wouldnt know what a good and Intelligent and powerful dog even is. You came here to try to insult ,us , the german shepherd breeders and owners with bragging about how we are not capable of handling or even know what we are doing...

Sorry lady, but I dont buy your insults nor appreciate the audacity of your insults and your ignorance.

Go start a club for your own Wonderful, great and unable to control dog and see if you can call yourself President of the Club .

When you start breeding different breeds of dogs together, you are just making mutts....the good old heinz 57 variety of canine species.  The pounds are full of them, so why do people keep on breeding more????  It's for the money that they can make by saying that they've developed another breed!!!!!!!

I believe I read somewhere,,and god knows not everything you read is true,,but the woman who originated the King Shepherd, was not happy with her Shiloh Shepherds, broke away and started her "own" breed, The King,,IF I also remember correctly the woman was the wife of the president of ARBA at one point. (as in American Rare Breed Assoc which the King can be shown in.

I've also seen alot of these dogs at rare breed shows, and again, like the Shiloh, they are just OVERSIZED german shepherds with a little of this and a little of that thrown in for good measure.

I'd like to ask the OP if they xrayed the hips and elbows on their "king" and what they rated out at ?
Just curious :))
