KellyJ,
Very sorry in deed, it's hard to deal with loss.
Do you know how he got out?
It might help to talk about it.
I worry everytime one of mine goes off the property, beside's driving fast on country road's, people around here sometime's shoot dog's.
I haven't had one get out of a kennel yet but one dog really like's to dig and I have to watch out for that.

KellyJ,
I am so very sorry for your loss. It is strange how things are thrown at us and the decisions you have to make in a short amount of time. Just know you made the right one and he is free from pain.
I will be thinking and praying for you in the days to come that you find peace. The pain will never be gone, but you will be able to think of him and the special times you had an smile once again.. Trust in that.

Kelly, I had no idea you were going through this. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes. I remember when you came to pick up your boy how excited you were and how you had saved up your own money to get him. I know that he was your heart and soul and I am so heartbroken for you right now. You will have other dogs but he will be irreplaceable. Please accept my deepest sympathy and feel free to contact me if you want to talk about it.

KellyJ,
So sorry to hear about your sad lost.
My heart goes out to you.
I had to put down my ESS due to ill health four years ago and it still pains me.
God Bless.

Oh Kelly, I am so sorry for your loss. I haven't lost a dog that way yet, but everytime a rabbit runs across the yard when a young, less-trained dog is loose, I panic. God bless you and your family. Car will be waiting at the bridge with the rest of the fine dogs we have all lost over the years, healthy and happy and delighted to be reunited with the human he loves.

Kelly, I'm so sorry you had to lose Car in such a sudden way like that. It's hard enough when they are just ready to go but very tough when they are young and vibrant. Best wishes to you.

Thank you all so very much. All of your kindness really helps during this time...yes that is Car in the picture with me. He was the only dog I had. Im not a breeder or anything...just a regular girl lucky enough to own one of these incredible dogs. It feels like I will never get that oppurtunity again being older and having other responsiblities and not an extra $1500 laying around. I know I could never find another dog like him. He was perfect in every way.
Thank you all very much...

Kelly, I'm so sorry for your loss, I think most of us have been there. The beautiful thing about this breed is that you can get another and it will most likely be just as special, but different. It never replaces the one you lose but it does fill another spot in your heart. And each one is so special in their own way, I hope things change for you and you reconsider. You could search in GSD rescue and perhaps pick up an older dog so you don't have to "do the puppy thing." My Aunt is almost 80, widowed and still has a GSD. Her Katie is 11 and she says she'll get another when Katie goes. Once they're in your heart you just can't seem to let go... You have my condolences.

Thank you...I will def. be trying to get another in the future. My heart feels so empty right now. I kinda wish I had another to keep me occupied because all I think about is him. Its so hard.
