LOL Abhay! didn't that guy post the pics of the homestead on here some time ago?
I just saw an ad where the pups were discounted and free shipping. Like a product from Ronco.

You know, when I've seen those ads, I have wondered if I was the only one who found them unappealing. They're not what I'd consider good marketing ploys, either. I've seen the ones where I can't decide if they're showing off their kids or their pups-I agree with you, Brittany. It's not the safest thing to do with young children.
Or this one-this really got me: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/classifieds/61032.html. Why show a puppy in that vulnerable condition for advertising? There is nothing appealing for a puppy buyer in that pic whatsoever-you can't even tell if that actual puppy is alive or dead. It makes me feel embarrassed for the mother dog and her newborn baby's situation, and if you want a pic like that, fine, but you don't use it for advertising the pups!

A stacked pic or one in action would convey such better than the one used. You can't tell hip quality by a freshly born bloody pup.

I agree, I would certainly would not be interested in purchasing from anyone who did not care to properly present their dogs. As far as kids- I have proudly shared pics of my 12 year old working with our dogs, as have others on this site. God help anyone who thinks they can get past my dogs to her.

Every time I see this picture it reminds me of my 2 daughters when they were babies!
They looked just like the 2 in the picture! Minus the marker.

Sorry, Yvette-I do understand the feelings; it just made me feel...BAD for the mother dog and her babies. Kinda like their privacy is violated for such to be spread on the internet. It's not a question of the dogs' quality per say; I'm merely commenting on the picture and wondering why people use such to try to sell their puppies. A super bitch in a pic like that doesn't look all that super, if you think about it. It shows nothing to indicate she is super, or that her pups are; it just shows how vulnerable she is, and that someone's got a camera taking pics of it instead of maybe helping out.
I guess it comes down to doing things with taste.
If you choose to use your kids, that's your perogative; people will see that as both positive and negative. I don't think I would want to broadcast pics of our two children when they were little on the internet, period, and I do not use clients' pics if they show small kids with the dogs-I acknowledge them personally, but they are not broadcasted on the internet. It doesn't bother me near as bad to see at least older kids with the dogs. Not exactly a taste issue, but personal preference.
But taking and using pics to show some issues just isn't cool; like the one I used earlier as an example. There are far better ways to convey that you have puppies that will be available than that. THAT is, to me, a taste issue.
I also find it kinda amazing that people will actually use a picture of two TIED dogs to advertise an upcoming litter, too. I've seen these up at the top when you come in to the GSD pedigree database. Good to have on record to confirm the breeding of dog A to dog B (and yes, I know its common to document such overseas, and if you are providing stud service with a male, its good for you to do it also for your own personal records but not public knowledge), but not my idea of pleasant litter-advertising material. I look at the pic, laugh lightly, and pass it on without even looking at who it is. Got a litter coming? Show me the parents, their credentials, past litters success, and in action. THAT will sell the pup to me; not seeing the parents tied and in a very 'vulnerable' situation standing there. Again, to me its a taste issue. While some people may not care to glance by and see such, not everyone wants to be spectators of mating dogs.
