To-Fast Enzo

http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/406212.html

He may not be the prettiest but the son I have out of him IMO, is better looking. He is capable of producing better looking than himself, with his drives and stable nerves. I'd love for Chris Orkies to use this stud on his bitch "Jazzy", again and I'm not the only one wishing so. Wonderfully uniform litter of good solid pups. My Enzo son is the best GSD I have ever owned. I'd like to see more people taking their bitches to Enzo. He has some of the nicest working dogs to walk the earth in his lines, Both Trolls, Fado, Orry, Aly and Fero. Also IMO the best female working line producer, Steffi Tiekerhook.

USA, Canada, and Mexico are all part of the North American continent.     And I guess there are several high ranking working line dog's in all three countries, there are also actual working dog's that do not compete yet are excellent dog's.

Where do you start?

I would probably have different criteria for a stud dog than you would,  and I don't keep up with the various Shutzhund organization's in  (North America).

Top stud?   Top in what way?

I do plan on breeding and have already choosen my stud , he's not on anybody's list that I know of.

Top could mean many thing's to many people.

Two moons I don't think he said the dog has to be on any list but your personal fav. I'm curious who you plan to use if we have not heard of him. I just learned of another nice male today I didn't know existed, make it 2.

Its best to keep it a secret otherwise every "Tom Dick and Harry" will want to breed.

the dog on my avatar is an Eick von der berger Hochburg son, I adore him. Courage, drive, brains, and clearheadedness. So I am a little biased:-)  I like Zidane as well. I had a half brother of his Zeppe Van't Steyneveld (down through Magbert with Vinnie van Guy's Hof on the mother line) who is now standing at stud in Alaska and I have a couple of sons from him and they're turning out very nice, awesome grips and drive.

This is a hard question to answer because there are a lot of great dogs out there, but I think it depends on what you like to see in your dogs...different people like different things and will therefore look for different studs that produce different things. Plus, maybe it's not such a good idea to just stick with the most popular studs...it will end up narrowing the gene pool if everyone did that.

Two Moons

4pack,

I should say I'm not into the working line dog's that are being discussed.

The dog I will use is my own from the Kirschental kennel in Germany if he measure's up to my standard's.

He's still young and has a long way to go yet.   So far I am very pleased with him at seven month's.

I should add that I have looked at two working police k-9's and did not see what I was looking for.

I also considered a SAR dog but again decided not to use him either.

Other than the obvious trait's and good health my most important criteria is intelligence and compatibility with my lifestyle.

I'm in no hurry.

On another note:  Every dog ad I see is top this top that.   Top show line, top working line, top producer.

Somehow it doesn't impress me, nor do the title's.   I wanna see it for myself, in the flesh, seeing is believing.

Brent.

This is my pups dad and I love what he gave me. Big strong bones, nice head, very high drives in all aspects and a very deep hard bite. I have also looked up some of is progoy and they are very nice. there are not many but they are quality. He is nice to look at to.

Shasta you make a good point, even if your favourite is not one of the most bred to dogs, it does not mean it's not a good dog, but if it's one of your favourites, then that's good.

4pack, I'm not a he

I also like Zygo vom Haus Sevens (zidane's littermate) I am a sucker for a bi-coloured though :)

Sorry Miss AandJ .

"Its best to keep it a secret otherwise every "Tom Dick and Harry" will want to breed."

I don't like that menatily, keep it secret. If a good dog is out there, why on earth would we not want them bred? Too many crappers already being pushed to the front, while the great dogs are in the back of the buss. Secrets are for spy's not dogs.

Two Moons, I like Kirschentals program. If I were to go showlines, they would be one of my top 5 kennels to buy from. At least they keep the work at the forefront of their dogs still. I admire that. Hopefully the son will keep breeding the same way the father has all of these years.
