Elkoorr,
She is very beautiful and so mature looking for her age. She looks like she is having a great time with Schutzhund... She has wonderful bone and a really nice head and expression.
I checked out her pedigree.. Her dam's sire, Baro had a brother, named Champ.. He was one of my all time favorite DDR dogs. I really liked him and was looking around a while back for a pup related to him.. It looks like you got her first.. hehe
I ended up with a Bi color female, she is now 11 months. She is bred decent and probably has more drive than I need. If I lived closer to a club, she would be so easy to title. I am working her on obedience and focus, and today we actually found a really nice dirt field and took her and Rookie tracking. They both did really great. Tika has only tracked 3 times before around 3-4 months ago. Rookie hasnt tracked in about 3-4 months, but I tracked him a lot last year and he did not forget a thing.
I hope to keep tracking them now at least twice a week now that I found a nice dirt field.

Thanks Kim, I agree with you on Champ being a nice looking guy. I personally like the type of Baro and Canto von Amicos (when you go a couple generations further down the line). Seems like this type is hart to come by. I am basical checking on whats out there.
Over the last couple years it has been very dry here in NC and our SCH tracking field looks terrible (so does my yard!). Its nothing to start a beginner dog in right now, have to wait till later this year. Thats ok, I am in no hurry. I had done some AKC tracking with my male last year. The first time I tried him the instructor laid hot dog tracks for our mixed (AKC) group. The track was bowed, about 100 feet long and approx 30 min old at the time it was my turn. No prob, he picked up like a pro and even tracked the instructor back to the point of origin w/o hot dog pieces on it, just to end up sitting in front of her begging which gave the group a good laugh. Ah ja, the magic of hot dogs.....lol
Tonga has a blast with the protection stuff and picks up quick on it. Seeing her doing this is worth the hour drive each way. The pics were from our only second training session. Very confident, but still a lot of clowny puppy in her. :) Her eyes are much darker then they look on that first pic.
Just keep on doing what you can. Even though titles are nice, but at the end the dog doesnt know it has one, right ;)

Elkoorr,
I wanted to share a few pictures with you that my friend and I took this weekend of Rookie, he is such a ham and LOVES to have his picture taken.
It still amazes me he is just now 2 yrs old. His head is going to be huge.

Kim, what club do you train with? I just found out today you are not far from me. DDR dogs are not my lines, but your boy has me mesmerized everytime I look at a pic. I'd love to see him work.

The only thing better than his incredible good looks is his wonderful temperament. He is a really nice sane guy.

Thanks for the compliments, he is a great dog.
When I train with a club, which has not been for a while. I trained at the Dixon club. I just bought a house in Jan. So money has been tight and with gas as high as it is I have to stay closer to home. Plus Rookie had some issues he is finally outgrowing so I was not in a big hurry to push him.
My friend Jyl and I have been working dogs together about once a week, and I have a field right down the street that I take my dogs to and work them on obedience and excercise them at least 4 days a week. I just found a nice tracking field and I am going to try and keep tracking at least once a week until my vacation next month. At which time I hope to train a lot. I will have 17 days off. I am really looking forward to it.
4pack, where do you live/train?

Kim I used to live in Woodland, now reside in Marysville. I train PSA not Schutzhund in the Oroville area. I know nothing about Sch tracking but think it would be fun to watch you guys, in a relaxed manner not like on a trial day. LOL Maybe stand around asking a few quastions. Never know, I might end up liking it and giving it a try.
I do most of my OB by myself too. If I have a problem or question I will ask my TD to take a look and make suggestions. I do OB at least once a day sometimes 3 x's, quick 5 minute sessions. Yesterday I took my dog on a walk instead and we just worked the fuse with focus, a few sits or downs here and there to make sure he was still listening. I didn't have time to go to the gym, so we had to work out together! Ha Ha.
