yellowrose of Texas

RIKAH:  Thanks for your imput...yes , Triump is quite a bit older in his pics as is Jada.....these pics are of course , the best of the best....

This pup may not be roached , only maybe slightly,,,and as he grows his back will lengthen....dont know who he is..and Im not showline smart anyway....Im learning too to look at shots and compare....Preston is the one I turn to if I need to know but Im not in the market for buying a thing....just want to be able to discuss the showlines ...as we all have some of the older lines in our pedigrees to some extent...

Showlines that have very strong backs and working ability are the ones I lean to...and have in my pedigrees... Uran,  Sagus , Cadette,  Wiethurchen,  and recently bought a boy out of some Arminius lines and not really fond of him...he has a kids personality , soft in work and a ham....he loves to tease and is all about the fun...hasnt got a serious hair on his body...I cant get him to work for soup or nuts..so i just obedienced him and hes a beautiful boy that is so red he looks like clay on fire....but he has that arched look when he walks and doesnt have that erect head and forward presentation that the working kids have... He is healthy and i have fun with him...

Thank you all so much for your responses. Here are a couple other pictures of him. Not great and may not be of any help, but they are all I have access to. Let me know what you think. All input is very much appreciated.

I'm not sure how old he is in the first picture or the picture I posted earlier, but believe he was young, ie less than two years old. In this last pictures, I believe he is 2.5-3 years old, if that helps.

The last pic is better in back positioning....even thought not a perfect stack....back does look straighter....

MUCH BETTER PIC MAKES ME FEEL BETTER.....LOL

MY REX IS SORTA LIKE THAT....FOR SOME REASON I CAN NEVER GET A GOOD STACK ON HIM  BECAUSE I DONT LIKE THE SLOPE THAT  HE HAS   LOOKS LIKE HE IS TUCKED UNDER IMO....TALKING ABOUT MY REX....AND HE IS THREE...iLL SEE IF i CAN POST A HALF WAY GOOD PIC OF HIM....HE IS NOT ROACHED BUT JUST DOESNT HAVE THAT ERECT STAND LIKE MY WORKING BOYS DO..EVERY NOW AND THEN I WILL CATCH HIM ERECT AND LOOKING UP AND STRAIGHT....

Thanks YRT. The sable working line male is one I own now. He will be ten in September, but is still going strong, never know he wasn't a three year old. The showline male is one I'm considering purchasing, but I have to be honest and say I don't know a lot about show lines, so was hoping someone else could give me some input on him. He is SG rated, so I assume he can't be too bad, but I would like some honest critiques, no matter how harsh. Rather hear it now than after I've bought him!  I know it would help to have better pics, but these are all I can get right now. I really appreciate all the input.

He has good rich pigment, normal head, dark eyes and good expression so I would  check his drive and his temperament out and go from there..

Somewhere over the Rainbow"      Tribute to a lifetime of Conformation of Excellence.

Yellowrose

Very nice drawings, Yellowrose.  Makes it easy to understand.  The last photo of the GSD looks good, but one alsways needs to see the dog evaluated in person.  Dogs that get SG can still mature and change from bad to good or good to bad.  It always helps if they have been koerklassed by a respected SV judge or breed warden.  The older working line male looks to me to have very nice confirmation for a working line GSD, and excellenty pigment and nice head and type.  Pretty rare nowadays for the most part.

Lately it just blows my mind how many ads feature GSDs with completely distorted physical traits that make them look absurd, and yet the advertiser claims such like, top conformation, etc., etc.  Yah right, and I can sell you a bridge in brooklyn cheap too !   I say don't advertise with a crappy photo.  If you can't get a good one don't try to present the dog as something he isn't.  Course maybe these folks don't know the standard and jjst don't have a clue about these matters.
