There is a luring course in South East Wisconsin that is open to all breeds.  I tried it with 2 of my GSD's and they looked at me like you want me to chase a piece of fur... Geeze mom at least make it interesting and give me a real rabbit.  Cheyenne just wanted to track...  gotta love that one.  DeeDee well she is a weak nerved and a bit over whelmed by all the barking dogs.

Here is the link:  http://www.lurecoursingfanatics.com/

Check out the Dogs in action, there is another GSD there.

Some dogs like it, others not.

AWESOME!  There are dogs that do things better than the German Shepherd but there is NO dog that can do it all like the German Shepherd!!!

EXCELLENT JOB ANITA!! Thank you for sharing! I have always been one to say that shepherds can do anything!! I had a shep once who was a great pheasant dog! She just picked it up naturally on our hikes and didn't mind guns either... lol It just does my heart good to hear your story!

What is her pedigree? She looks an awful lot like one of my girls!!

Thank you Wisc....

I am just glad I found something her speed......Not sure how many times she'll need to go before she gets tired......the lure may shred into nothingness before that happens I'm afraid!

good job!  with all the craziness that seems to float to the top of the newsworld, this sort of thing helps build PR for the gsd. we all know our dogs and what they can do, but its nice when others get a glimpse of how great our dogs really are.

keep up the good work, palestar.

 Palestar,

I have a client who owns Borzois and competes in lure coursing etc. At least one of his dogs is the top dog in the United States in several events. The client lives near me and holds competitions on his property. One of his injured dogs has been here to rehab in my canine pool. One of these days I am going to take some of my GSDs I own down to one of his events and give it a try. Most are lightning quick and have fanatical prey drive. I have no doubt that the dogs will be fast on the course and have a ball. I think it will be fun.

Nice photos you posted. Good luck with your dogs.
