The Caucasians looks like lawsuit city to me. How can anyone control these dogs when it gets out of control? even the guy mention on the national geographic that no type of collars will work, Why breed these dogs? Why do people like total defense in a dog?

Oops, sorry for the spelling slip - I should have written "I don`t think it`s wise." It`s 5 a.m. in Moscow now & my computer is sleepy.

ladywolf45169, do you mean the Caucasian Ovcharka or the decoy`s work from Steve Leigh`s post? Or both?  I think I agree with you. These dogs are scary  & the decoy from Steve Leigh`s post is scared.  That thing on his had looks really funny.

This is one of our club trainers:  http://www.cynologycentre.ru/photos5.html He prepares the dogs for their job - territory protection. Stupid work for a trainer, really.

what racism? or racist remarks? the video was filmed in spain and the dogs owner says something about spain being great or the greatest or something. i didn't hear the "porch monkey" remark. is that racist? i don't know. as for the rest, the terms "jerk", moron", "fool" are really generic - they can and do apply to anyone where appropriate.

brittany, i think bam should meet one of those caucasian ovcharkas! i would probably enjoy that. shame on me.

Brittany, can`t agree more! These dogs are REALLY DANGEROUS! When they are left alone & a stranger is crossing their territory... NOTHING will stop them... Thanks god nowadays there are some new strict laws concerning agressive dogs in Moscow. I really don`t want my children or dogs to encounter these monsters.

Interesting dogs, like many guardian dog breeds they have their place.  What the first link rus posted showed is the dogs place is not in a city or neighborhood environment.     And even though they may not need to be trained in protection, they need even more obedience to be controllable.  JMHO.

Watching that video gave me de ja vu. When I was 15 years old I worked for a farmer bailing hay. I got paid 1.50 per hour and dinner. They had a huge dog like the one in the video. They kept it in the basement and only the woman could feed the dog. when I sat down to eat dinner with them the dog would slam itself against the basement door and had a very deep bark and growl. I don't think I worked for them people very long. I was terrified of that dog.

Steve, I am referencing the comments/statements on YOUR board, presumably writen by you, as no one else is credited. And, no, I will not bother to explain why they are racist (the use alone indicates the writere knows full-well), nor debate the matter. The statements speak for themselves...and for you.
