WAIT, can someone please clarify something for me?
You do NOT need a working title to show dogs in working class of SV shows in the UK? What about breed surveys? Do you NOT need a schH1 for a breed survey in the UK?
Here in the USA as far as SV shows go and breed surveys, the SV rules apply.
We have other types of shows, AKC, UKC, etc. which do NOT require titles, but most of the people who frequent this board are not involved in those types of shows.

Trueview: As far as the BSP dogs, you need to remember that you must have a show rating to get a breed survey, so of course those dogs will have attended one show.

THere are no SV shows in the UK, only KC beauty shows.
The British Sieger requires that your dog has SOME sort of title if an adult.
It also requires that you have had a breed survey conducted.
Schutzhund in the UK is not a kennel club licensed activity yet.

Sueincc. As far as I know you do not need any working qualifications for entry into a breed survey in the U.K. I may of course be wrong, if so I stand corrected but I'm pretty sure none is required.

Sueincc. Yes I Know about the B.S.P. dogs I said exactly that in an earlier thread, the question I was answering was the one where you asked if in the U.K. did the dogs not have to have a title before entering a breed survey , I'm sure they don't.

What a load of tosh Langhaar, conformation is dictated by breed standards, lots of different breeds work so no singular conformation is necessarily more suitable. Rotties are heavyweight dogs, if weight be a problem why are the schutzund fanatics using Rotties insted of decrying them? Could it be because attacking breeders of showline gsd's is more desireable, designed to take the eye from poor constructed gsd's used in schutzund? One poster was spot on when comparing many schutund Shepherds to Malinois, could this be due to working enthuiasts lack of knowledge in breed standard, their increase desire for more sixth gear, overdrive, dogs or do Working Specialists just get confused between German and Belgium Shepherds at matings? lol

Depends on your interpretation of the Breed Standard I suppose. Personally, I think a dog like this is closer to the standard than most showdogs. Maybe AS(S) thinks he is ugly or like a Malinois (Belgian Shepherd, Belgium is where they come from), but he certainly could do "schutzund" or "schuthund" or, yes! the word is Schutzhund!

I can't believe we almost went a week without a show v. work thread.
Working people are on the right track. They have a working dog, so why would a person who wants a working dog that works, go to numerous shows? That would kinda be like the tools that buy Hummers and never take them off the road. Yuppie do-gooders that are out there to impress. If you are going to buy something, buy it for the purpose it was invented.

Now it's all beginning to make sense. Those of you who only show your dogs, and do not title or work them are similar to those in the USA who show in AKC beauty pagent shows. Unfortunately when GSDs are bred only for the show ring you end up with very pretty dogs who can't work. This is exactly where breeders in the USA who are only interested in AKC shows have ended up, and it looks like the same can be said for show breeders in the UK too. Every once in a blue moon there will be one bright star who is capable of doing the work, but sadly, these dogs are the exception. The posts I have been reading generally mimic the beliefs of people who have no first hand experience or even a fundamental understanding of schutzhund. It's too bad you are approaching a subject you know nothing about with closed minds instead of learning about it before you condemn it.
I have to say I admire those of you who are working your dogs in the UK. I never realized what you are up against. It's sad, but you are clearly in the minority of UK GSD enthusiasts, and are having to waste time dealing with silly rumors started by people who haven't a clue but still want to shut you down. I wish you all the luck in the world.

KAFFIRDOG. Yes indeed Blacky was a very good dog and a decent construction also even though overstretched on the photo but anyone who knows anything can see past that.
Considering he was born in the year 1989 .......... some 19 years ago one would think there would be more dogs of that type here today ! , although , there are quite a few but NOT in the U.K. ( as far as I know ) which also have good titles and Korung and Hip and Elbow status. If you know of any please let me know.
