I'd pass on this "offer". Never enter into a co-ownership because it's cheaper than buying outright.
I have been involved in several co-ownerships during the past 40 years. Invariably, one party comes to feel that they are getting the short end of the stick. The breeder/so-owner tends to have some sort of sense of "entitlement". When there are gray areas in the contractual relationship, they are most likely to be the party who "bends" the contract.
Even if the dog is acquired as a puppy, the breeder/co-owner tends to want to call all the shots regarding training, titling, and showing even when most of these costs are paid for by the buyer/co-owner.

DO NOT DO IT! It will end badly - it always does.

Good luck on your decision.
Mkae sure you visit the dam and see how you hit it off and if she has any issues.
If you spend alot of time and even let her live in the house you will be suprised how fast she will bond to you.

I've learned the hard way if I can't buy/own the dog outright it's just not worth the headache. The hell with co-ownerships/leases/breeding contracts, etc. I've lost so much money, and worse, ruined my reputation with a breeder I respected because of the actions of a "co-owner". Forget it.

I wouldn't do it if it were me. WAY too many things can go wrong where YOU get the "shaft".
What happens if the bitch delivers 10 puppies and then dies? I imagine that YOU get to hand raise the litter. What happens if all of your costs assiciated with this "deal" end up being several thousand dollars? Do you have experience whelping and raising a litter?
To me it sounds like the breeder would be getting a HELL of a deal and you wouldn't.
If you want a puppy, why not just BUY a puppy in the first place? At least that way you KNOW you will get a pup. WIth the co-ownership you MIGHT get a pup. Or you MIGHT end up with nothing except an empty wallet.

I like the looks of that GSD named Maulder, he's nice on that Von Salerno kennel site.

I co-owned a dog with her breeder. The deal was, the breeder would get the pick of two litters and then sign the dog over to me. Since the bitch was living in a kennnel, the breeder was happy for her to have a family home and I paid nothing for her. We ended up having just one litter with the breeder taking two puppies from it. We then split the profit from the remaining puppies. It was an entirely positive experience with the breeder being very helpful with the entire whelping and puppy rearing process(it was my first litter). I had known the breeder previously and had purchased two dogs from her in the past. Overall, I'm glad I did it, so sometimes co-ownerships can be a positive experience. Good luck making your choice.

I have been to the breeder's place many times. I have interacted with the dog. She actually just had a litter in January, but they want to breed her one more time. I am still considering this as I want to make sure it's the right choice for all of us. The breeder is very well known and I have done a lot of research.
Yes, I would get full registration of the dog and the puppy, but you brought up a few questions that I have not asked yet.
I appreciate your input!
Thanks

She just had a litter in January. I am not the breeder, so I can't tell you why they want to breed her just one more time. I am not taking her to breed her or actually profit from her. I am considering taking her to raise her for the rest of her life. Age is not an issue with me as far as that goes. I, myself, wondered why they want to breed her again. She has had a few litters already. In my opinion, I don't feel like she should be bred again simply because I found out 2 days ago that when her last puppy left from her litter born in January, she got extremely depressed.
I am simply asking questions because I have never co-owned before.
