Orry is a really nice dog and Pike is his Grandsire - http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/450382.html .

Orry had two sons at the WUSV this year. He is now in the US at Van Den Heuvel K9. I took a trip up to VDHK9 about two weeks after Orry arrived at their kennel and he is an impressive dog for sure. TONS of aggression and drive.

We bred to Jabina Fjolle, a Pike son, twice.  And we've been VERY happy with the results.  All pups showed excellent drives, natural focus, flashy obedience, good grips, excellent nerves, nice tracking and lots of power and fight in the bitework (they are not just sporty, prey dogs).  Very good structure and hips/health as well.

The negatives: a couple of the pups ended up quite large not oversized but very top of the standard, a couple have shown tendencies toward handler aggression (not at all uncommon from Pike), and a couple can overload in drive if the handler or helper doesn't work them properly and teach them to cap.

All pups from both litters are in active SchH homes and they are getting rave reviews from everyone who sees them work.  We kept a pup from each litter for our own breeding program, one here with us and one in a co-own, and are looking forward to incorporating them into our breeding in the near future.

POLLUX v.d. Schafbachmühle his brother on the vertical pedigree sure did alot for Illo von der Abfuhr as he was breed to alot of dogs that had bad hips and was a improver.

We own quite a few pike progeny with great working results and temperament. The males seem to be a little sharp and the females have a nice civil edge.

Where this line gets interesting is a couple generations down with line breeding. but you have to watch your combinations because there are some issues that are hidden if the breeding isn’t done proportionately.

I have a daughter of Mike Diehl's new competition dog Erri. My female, Xena, is a very high drive female. She is loaded with prey drive but definately has the civil edge to her. She is a little handler soft. She is a joy to work. She has very nice obedience. She is sooooooo willing to please. Here is a picture of her and her pedigree. I am sure that alot of you have already seen her.

She is the only one out of her little that has gone into a sport home...the rest went into police work.
