Crooked Creek Ranch

Just an update on the pup's hernia. At the six week check up my vet felt it was not a big deal, the inside opening she said was about the size of a pencil eraser. Cost to fix at neuter time $20 additional. If done without neuter $50-60. I called 4 vets within 60 miles to get prices and opinions, prices were about the same but opinions varied widely regarding if this is genetic or not. MY vet noted on the health records that this was NOT genetic in nature but trauma caused. While other vets said it was not noticed because as the puppy ages it begins to have a layer of fat which it did not have a birth, the fat then as the puppy grows begins to poke though the unclosed opening and becomes visible or suddenly appearing. Well everyone has a different theory. I am discounting to the buyer the average price of the surgery if he elects to have it done. Hopefully it will correct itself and nothing will need to be done.
