Well put 4pack.
I would like to clarify what I said about the jumping on people- I meant, the constant corrections for jumping on people at home can have a negative affect when you go to the training field. When I have guests at home, especially ones that I know aren't as dog friendly as I am, I put the dogs out. That way, I don't have to correct them for being normal dogs.

"My dogs are not my kids and I don't treat them as such. They are dogs, live as dogs and get treated/respected as a dog."
careful 4pack,, talk like that will get those PETA freaks on your doorstep.

Good I'll have my shotgun ready! Jerkoffs, dogs aren't people, why do so many people try to treat them as such?

All 7 of our Czech dogs live in the house and are calm and good inside. I have 3 that sleep on my bed room floor. I do not feel that this has made them harder to title but i can say we started with the wrong training and i feel now we are are on the right path after a few months with people who know what they are doing.. Dont get a Big head John!!!
I will not put them out... John you can comment on my dogs performance if you would like... It does not hurt my feelings..

lol, not me. my head gets any bigger and it will tilt to one side. i can say that your dogs have made great improvement since i first met them. keep up the good work.
simply put, some dogs can do it and some cant. Dar gets to come inside, but he is not the type of dog you would want to live with. too many tall objects that he thinks he needs to mark.
for the most part our dogs live outside. does it make them better sport dogs. i dont know. i have never tried to raise one only inside and work it for sport. i can say that my dogs are always happy to see, and ready to work at a moments notice, A.D.D. i think.
i was told once by a trainer that he didnt like to raise pups in the house, because he did not want them to grow up in a world of "NO". as in "no dont do that" "no get down" etc, etc.

Egg zackalackaly John, that is also my understanding and point. Don't put too many no's on the dog until you know how much he can handle without it affecting performance.
If Dar pees on everything, you can keep him. I'll keep my squater, who doesn't mark anything ever .....yet! 16 months and still pees like a girl, is this normal?

by jletcher18 on 17 January 2008 - 02:01
hey 4pack, i had a showline male once that never lifted his leg. dars' pup was lifting his leg at 3 months.
im not sure what is normal anymore. i have walked males close to trees or fence and tried to entice them to lift a leg. works sometimes.
if i was to venture a guess i would say it has more to do with the dogs maturity (mentally) more than anything else.

LOL john thanks...I am going to keep my guys inside, our deals are more because of people who are not sport people we were training with.. Best of luck with what you want to do.
Mine male wont pee inside ..Never has.. I am lucky i guess...
