Glad I don't show my LC Trigger. But I have been working him towards a BH title. Is there a special BH title for LCs? You know, one that doesn't count quite as much because his coat happens to be long? Gotta love it when I hear about LCs in LE that risk their life everyday protecting their human partners but still aren't worthy of breeding.

Laut Aussage von einigen SV Richtern ( Herr Rieger= von Bad Boll, Herr Orschler= von Badu, und Herrn Gothe= vom Ritterberg)sowie einer Frau vom VDH, werden die Langstockhaarigen mit großer Warscheinlichkeit ab 01.01.09 vom VDH und SV Anerkannt.Das währe sehr schön da könnte man Weltweit Züchten und Ausstellen. This lets us know that as of 01.01.09 we will be able to Show and breed our Longcoats World wideThis statement has been made from SV Judges named above. Can't wait to show our Beauties everywhere and not only UKC.

Re: trimming. I asked this question elsewhere, and got NO response. If you have a regular-coated GSD, with the longer version of the coat, is it permissible to tidy up the coat when showing? She has a long fringe of hair along her belly that hides her bottom line from being seen clearly. How much is permitted? Does it depend on the judge? Anyone here adept enough in grooming to give me some tips? Thank you!

We are getting a little off topic here ;)

by ProudShepherdPoppa on 29 December 2007 - 17:12

I don't mind and I started the topic! Will AKC follow suit?

by AIR on 29 December 2007 - 18:12

I am a little disappointed to hear about the longcoat thing. At least the fact their dog is a longcoat stopped many people from breeding dogs that were less than ideal candidates for breeding. Now that it is (or will be) allowed, do you think we will see a rise in GSD population?

From my experience of owning a long coat AND a stock coat, oh and yes! a white! I get more people asking me about the LC than I do the others. The first thing they say is how beautiful he is! And "where can I get one" "who is your breeder" and so on! I can also tell you that he has the best temperament of all of my dogs put together! He is a wonderful dog and looks awesome in the show ring and I could give a crap less if you don't like the fact that I show him! I will defend my dog just like I KNOW he would defend me!

You are probably hearing those things from pet people, though. They do not know the LC is a fault and are going strictly by how cute the dog looks.
