I believe Cindy is thinking of what is known in the AKC world as a duddley nose. THAT is a fault in most breeds and looks like pink spotting on the black nose leather and doesn't come and go. A snow nose is where the black nose fades to pink in a stripe down the center of the nose between the nostrils. In some dogs it gets fairly wide and prominent while in others is it barely noticable.
I've had tons of dogs with snow noses in the winter, it is very, very common. Some were AKC champions and never got refused a ribbon by any judge for having pink noses. I never gave any of them any supplements of any sort and low and behold by early summer all were solid black again. I've heard of kelp, etc. but never did try any of that since I never felt I needed to. Also, it seems that some dogs are effected more than others and I never tied it to pigmentation or coat color or anything other than being just one of those things.
BTW I think Cindy might be a troll.

Renz, is it really Pink or is it just the front face of the nose is losing the dark color.
If it is not just a lighter than the normal black color, say into a tan/grey, then I would have some blood work done at the Vet.
Things like Lupus will cause color pigmentation change on a dogs nose. There are also two different types of Lupus, one you can diagnose with bloodwork the other has to be with tissue biopsy.
Maybe CindyGSD is a PINK troll.

Louise M. Penery,
I'm afraid you're right. Just another dirty troll who have nothing better to do on her spare time but to spread false information to someone who came here to seek out information :(

Thanks you guys. Wish I knew how transport his picture on here. But yes his nose has been black - and now I notice a pink streak between the nares like Blitzen said. I will not panic now because of what you all helped me with...........however could you now get rid of Cindy the Troll girl. Thanks

This might be a stupid question - but does snow nose occur in colored German Shepherds?
I thought it was something related to the level of pigment in the dog...and I hate to say I only thought it occured in some whites.
This has been educational for me (barring the pink troll)
thanks for letting me know :)

Renz, it is a winter condition.
It not only affects dogs it does cattle as well. I remember a lot of the Angus up in Montana had noses that would have pink in them too. It would go away when we checked the cows in the summer.

I have wondered too if "snow nose" could be caused by the the constant exposure to cold and dryness?
C'mon guys don't get rid of Cindy yet! Every village needs it's idiot!
