One of my smaller bithes always produced small litters - 3,3,1. All of her pups were very large, 30 to 32 oz and she deliverd them naturally with no problem, so it is possible. However, I think I'd let the vet make this decision based on the size of the puppy. Rather a section than a lost puppy or dam.

Everything went really well! It's a beautiful girl at 1lb 7oz. Mom hasn't accepted her so we are hoping she will come around. I have to restrain her while the pup nurses, she tries to do a quick snap at her otherwise. Thanks again you guys! I feel based on your sound advice we made the right decision!
