Hexe, he tried to contact her, so she did a web search on him. That's when she found that horrible story on Ripoff Reports.

Very smart of her to do her homework!

Ahhh...very interesting.  I have to admit that I wouldn't be able to help myself--I'd *have* to make the contact, just so I could find out what he thought he could scam me out of or into...let him think he was going to be successful in doing so, and then the the disappointment of FAIL! come crashing down on his worthless hide.  It would just be too, too tempting, and there's always a chance that one might catch him trying to do something he could be arrested for yet again, and be able to provide evidence of same!

Of course, I can say that  as I already have the benefit of knowing his history...and now that hunger4justice has posted about it, the element of surprise has been lost. :(  But I AM glad that you did your homework and didn't fall prey to him, hunger4justice!

Sounds like a little cowboy logic would apply here.......

Hexe, I did that with a scammer, played along, had cohorts who played along as well (they were also intended victims of the scammer) posted all about it in detail, and guess what? It disappeared! LOL   This stuff is only a helpful warning if it stays up for people to see. Granted, scamming people out of thousands of dollars and dogs is not nearly as heinous as what Tim Helser has been accused of, but still..............

He was shot once:
"Brookville authorities probably will file delinquency charges of negligent assault against a 17-year-old boy who police say shot his roommate in the chest Sunday evening in a "horseplay" incident involving a .22-caliber long-barreled pistol. Police Chief Andrew Papanek said Timothy J. Helser, 19, of 420 Market St. was found on a couch in the two-story rooming house when police responded to a report of a shooting at 6:24 p.m. Helser was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he underwent surgery and was listed in good condition Monday."

I agree, Mystere--the information is just sooo easily found with just the tiniest bit of effort...Please, please tell me that no more dogs have paid the price for their owner's failure to do any checking, and it's just people being scammed out of money?

I received an email a while back asking about a puppy from a woman whose last name was Helser. I asked if she had any relation to "the trainer Tim Helser" and she never answered me back nor did she inquire again about my dogs.
