"Cathcing on" to what, exactly?  That there is something inherently "wrong" with the breed?    Or, catching on that the breed, for whatever reason(s), tends to attract questionable characters as owners?   I have heard the same said about Dobermans, with respect to attracting a particular type of personality.    Ditto rotties.

What, exactly, are you saying, Liberalandy?

One of the best dogs I had (before current company of course) was my pit cross.  He was the best with everybody but made sure I was safe.

I had heard that the most successful drug-detection K9 is the border patrol dog "Popsicle" - a rescued Pit Bull.

Regarding that study..liberal Andy

I wish they would take it a step further and also track how many arrest convictions the owners of the Pit Bulls have.

Its Not a breed problem, its an owner problem.  This is a New phenomenon, since they became the dog of choice in the ghettos, barrios & trailer parks in the late 1980s/1990s..

The Most Titled Dog in the world currently  is also a Pit Bull, as was Petie of Little Rascals.

Remarkably, Cesar Milan , who owns several Pitbulls, has never had his ever attack anyone.  Amazing isnt it? I bet the Po-Lice & Amulance are right outside Cesars house though, just waiting for the attack to come. RIght Andy?

Ahem.  Pit bull dog forum is just a few clicks in that direction.  -->

Liberalandy  you have thrown out this 2% statistic a number of times now. the problem with your very low statistic is that the article you reference the % from only takes it's #'s from a single registry. ABPT's are registered with 4 different registries i can think of off the top of my head ( the 4th being the AKC which calls them Amer. Staff. terriers) not to mention the thousands that don't even get registered. the statistic is misleading at best. when i had the breed i took part in the American Dog Breeders Association weight pull & conformation shows. at a local show (local not national) it was nothing for have 300 to 400 APBT's in attendance. (never a single problem with that many so close to each other either) but that's just 1 local show for 1 registry. when is the last time we saw that many GSD's at a national show let alone a local show?  that would be great to see. but sorry that % is very inacurate.

Thanks SchBabe.

Altho I like a heated discussion.

Does anyone know what  a breaking stick is?

Has anyone seen the video on youtube of the small terrier jumping out of a patrol car and taking down a suspect?

Claudia Romard.   Its great.

Ahem SchHBabe   didn't notice you having a problem with the many Michael Vick threads that turned into APBT bashing. but thanks for adding to this one.

ramgsd,

I'm not bashing pitbulls, they need to find a new purpose just as the German Shepherd did.

And after 70 years or so of selective breeding I might even want one for myself.

Brent.
