right, you don't want her to have a litter now. She's too young and untitled. However, too late. She's been bred accidentally. Nothing you can do about that. Now you need to decide whether you want to give her the abortion pill now, abort a possible litter and take the risk of side-effects or possibly screwing her up for future litters (would have to speak to the repro specialist about risks of the abortion pill), or wait and see if she's pregnant - if not then good, if so then ???? let her have the litter for her safety/best interest - or risk her life by having a surgical abortion, killing puppies that may be perfectly healthy and able to live normal lives. Your decision. Either way you can't change the fact that she has been bred too young and you didn't want it to happen. Accidents happen.

The moral of the story is never underestimate a male when there is a bitch in heat around!!!
Another lesson of many learned.

I have seen a male break through a partially opened glass window to try breed a female. Chain link fences are like paper for those horny boys!
When my bitch is in, my male is in his fully enclosed priefert kennel, and my bitch is locked up in the house. It's scary what those males will do.
Best of luck to you, I think you are making the right decision. AKC pups or not, she is still a baby at 11 months

Heck, I've heard of a litter being conceived THRU a chainlink fence! Must've been rather painful for them, but where there's a will, there's a way!
TIme is of the essence here. The abortion pill MUST be given within 24-48 hours. DO NOT WAIT, if you truly want to stop this bitch from conceiving!

A friend had an accidental litter when the FEMALE ate through her chain-link fence, then climbed into the male's kennel. So, it happens no matter what, sometimes.

According to my veterinarian, there is no such thing as an abortion pill or shot, once the dog is pregnant. I would think that there is, but he insists there is not.

Yes, that's it, Capt. Mike! When I worked for a vet, we had a lady come in with a Bedlington terrier that had been caught 'fooling around' with a mutt. The vet said if implantation had already occured, the injection would do nothing. If it was able to prevent implantation, she needed to be very careful, because the bitch would continue in heat, and would have to be kept safe from other ardent (but unsuitable) suitors!

I could swear there is an abortion pill - hadn't heard about the injection - pays to consult with a repro specialist - normal vets often don't know the "specialized" stuff like how to read or position for hip x-rays or anything but the basics in reproduction.

Thanks CaptMike. There seems to be high possibilities of dangerous side effects and it is also not approved by the FDA according to that link, so maybe that is why my vet wants nothing to do with it. Or, maybe he is just not aware. He has been a vet for about forty years though.
On another note. Why does the detective in me, think that you and I have conversed many times together? Your use of certain words, phrases, punctuation and "ideas" remind me of another poster on here.
Guess it doesn't matter though.
Thanks again. I am going to ask my vet about that drug, to see if he is familiar with it.
