in the first pic his left ear looks strange maybe like the tip is weaker or something ?? and in this one again the left ear on his head, right side of the pic, looks odd.... is it just me or is anyone else seeing this ??
Ok I like the dogs Head, neck, shoulder, chest, wither, and first half of his back, then he seems to weaken a bit, he has a short croup, and a high tail head, and looks like a little lean in the rear quarter, BUT that is just observing that picture....
NOT trying to put this dog down in any way, He is very handsome and this is just observation from the picture available...

Nothing wrong with his ear or head the person holding the leash is pulling on him....I mentioned that already above post....look at his front shot....good head good ear set big ones his head has got to grow into his ears....
EM: You need to get the latest siegerin and seiger issues and take a look at the young males and young females that are presented for evaluation......might help you.

The judge in all of the 6-9 month old females, after watching the pup do its gate and examination will tell in the critique , all the good and all the not so good....in every single critique,,,you will see this said.::::::::
the main problem in all these females is this and that and key sentence:
But I am not too worried about it, ,they will all chande again in the next few weeks...........

He looks like a very nice male to me. He has a nice head, good, intelligent expression, nice bone, no roach, nice, tight feet, no hockiness and rear is not dragging the ground. Chest will develop as he matures.
Nice looking boy.

gsdlvr2,
The first thing that came to my mind upon seeing him was nice looking young male, but huge for 7.5 months. Pictures can be misleading if for example the person behind him is 4'10" tall then you have to take that into consideration. In any case though he looks to have great bone, and IMO he has the top line that I like. Strong straight back. Not a show winner here in the states for sure, but that would be fine with me, but don't know what you want though. Personally I have don't care for the show lines here in the states. He looks to have great pigment, and looking at the persons hands in the background it looks as though the photo is at least fair for evaluating the pigment.( if that makes sense).
He does look east / west in the photo but sinse he is not that is a plus as it seems that so many dogs today are east/west and I don't know why this is such a comon thing, unless it is just a coincidence that I happen to see these dogs more.
What are his lines? Is there a way of viewing his pedigree. His structure looks to me to be more working lines, not as stretched out and over angulated or roach backed. Contrary to what many believe there are some working lines that have his color. It would be interresting to get some history on him. What are your goals, purposes for him? Good luck, hope he is all you want him to be, or more important, hope you appreciate him for who he is.

I really like him, and his brother. I really want to see him when his head fills out. You should post his ped.

Thanks everyone for your opinions.
Yeah,he is a big boy for this age. I'm crossing my fingers he won't go over the standard. He hasn't gained much height lately so, we ought to be ok (hoping). Either way he's going to have alot of mass.
He is all showlines but they were carefully selected because they were not overangulated and did not have roached backs among many other things. Temperament, nerves and drives also high on the list (of course).
My goals and purposes are to work and perhaps breed him. So far we are concentrating on work. I have little to no tolerance for a dog that can't work and be good at it. So far we have started obedience, tracking, protection and air scenting. He loves his bitework. Eventually, fighting bad guys is one goal. Time will tell.
He has good ball, food and hunt drives. He is showing a nice amount of fight drive which I am very happy to see. It's harder and harder to find in the showlines. He's been testing me lately with possessiveness of his "toys". He's determined but teachable and willing to please and very intelligent. He loves to retrieve. That seems to be genetic in him, I have done little except encourage him.
So far he has been introduced to a variety of surfaces-no problems there. He has not been on any swinging surfaces yet. He's been in tunnels, a variety of sizes and textures. He has been introduced to a ladder but I don't yet allow him to do much of that mostly because of coming down and young joints. He has no problem having all 4 feet on the ladder.
He has been on a bus, been to a sawmill, been on a farm, been exposed to loud gunfire, not those cap guns. Hopefully soon he will go to an airport and go into the cargo bins and see how he does with that, those can be intimidating. Based on what I have seen from him so far though I don't anticipate a problem.
He moves nice. he's fast and yes, I think he could work all day.
It's a start and this is only a partial list of what we've done. I am taking my time with him and I am appreciating him for who he is and who he is becoming. He has a seriousness to him........maybe it's just me but I see it in his eyes too.
I would agree the photo is a fair as far as his color although he is a little darker in person.
