Copy of posting removed by Oli (was in two parts).Steve Leigh, it's a known fact that you are an unbelievably talented studio musician (keyboardist). I respect you for that. At least back in the 70's there was nobody better, maybe still isn't. Plus undoubtedly you are a very good writer and a very intelligent man as evidenced in your ability to use the English language in your posts. But I do think that you have been too harsh on your view of Shandra. I say this because I think that you are blaming Shandra for the current HAZMAT regulations and the idiodic confusion and hysterical over-reacting between the local, state and federal rules. This is not Shandra's fault for all this delay and confusion and lack of clarity in dealing with what used to be considered "no big deal" 20-30 years ago. This matter has been taken completely out of her hands by these various gov't bureaucracies and they will do what they see fit when they see fit with no advice and consent from the public or Shandra. You certainly can understand this.
I can understand why anyone now days who has a brain detests current gov't bureacracies and bureaucrats in regard to HAZMAT matters. Many think that these gov't bureacracies are "out of control" and are parasites on the people, existing only for themselves instead of being "by the people, for the people" the way US founding fathers set the gov't up to be. I for one do. But this is NOT Shandra's fault for these crazy regs and slow response. This is driven by all the damage done at places like LOve Canal and Rocky Flats and "lead in the gasoline and lead in the paint. If you want evidence of the Gov't confusion in these type matters just consider how the gov't did virtually nothing in New Orleans for at least 8 days while people died for nothing, due to supposed "bureacratic confusion and buck passing". So I'm with you on that aspect of this situation. But also, remember that most of the folks in these gov't agencies are basically good people that are unnecessarily bound by existing and suffocating rules out of DC.

Posted from Preston: part 2 of message.
I have checked out the situation with Shandra and I now know for certain that she is telling the truth and has been telling the truth all along and is not trying to manipulate money out of anyone. She is a good person who got bushwhacked by tragedy. Certainly anyone would feel confused and uncertain what to do in this situation. This can and has happened to many of us at different times in our lives. She never asked anyone for money and still hasn't. Anything anyone can do for her is greatly appreciated, and even a $5 gift can mean a lot to anyone when they have lost almost everything but their car and have no money. Steve, I hope that you would be more understanding of Shandra and her situation right now, that's all.

Frankly, I don't see how anyone can be so insensitive right off the bat, with out knowing anything about the person or the situation. As I tried to say in the other post, Steve couldn't jump up high enough to kiss Shandra's a**! And has anyone heard from Shandra? With Thanksgiving coming up, I wonder how she's coping....& how are the dogs & pups doing, anybody heard? Sparrow, I'll wait for your letter...Yellowrose, you should have the copies I sent you shortly. I hope the bank gets the itty-bitty check I sent soon. What supermarkets are down there? I'm thinking gift certificate, or do the Walmarts have food sections in them??? jackie harris

Its the red number at the top of this thread
You just give them that number and tell cashier I want to put XX dollars on this card ....write it on a little note paper and hand it to cashier...she puts into register and gives you a receipt
It automatically goes into the card and no one can see it or use it...
All you have is a number....she has the pin and the card....Thanks
Again the number needed is 6036 1422 2530 3343 Walmart Gift Card number.
Steve Leigh: am glad to know you are an accomplished pianist.. My whole family are musicians....My Uncle Robert Pfeiffer, played with the Philadelphia Philharmonic many years ago ., prior to my birth , and he played by ear, and note also, and my grand parents had a baby grand in their home in Illinois,,,,and both of them played everything from Mozart, Schumann , Bach, the Hallejuhah Chorus to Sussa, and all the enbetween...
I am a high soprano soloist , with many years of solo work , almost went into opera., but because my uncle Robert died short of my 18th birthday, my hopes and dreams fell apart...My dad died before I was born, so I had no one to push me on....and Uncle Robert had promised me to come to Arizona ,where he was now working in piano bars ,because he had bad emphezema and had to go to dry climate...he was get me started and I just settled for the College of the Mainland and the Mainland Chorus in TC<TX to get my edu. never learned the piano...envy you.....I always had to hunt for a pianist evertime I ws ask to sing at an event....canned music was the choice..
