Not often: 2-4 days before a show, if they get stinky or coats dull and cruddy from playing in the mud. Pups may get baths in the sink before they go home if they have been playing in the mud, swim through something green in the far end of the pond, anything stinky. Carol is in the house most of the time, so he rarely gets dirty. All dogs are in some of the time most days, so its easy to tell when they need grooming. They get more baths in summer because there are more events, the water and weather is warmer. In winter I trek to the self-serve doggie wash 10 miles away and plunk down the $8.00 for the convenience of not having to hook the hose up to the washing machine spigots and get water all over the basement floor. I swim them a lot, so its not necessary often.
I DILLUTE shampoo in a bucket of warm water till its till slippery and smells good, but rinses off easily, use a natural sponge to scrub, pressure nozzle to rinse. Carol draws the line at the dog dryer. He tries to kill it so he gets to air dry. Don't leave the sponge around where dogs can find it. Those things are $5.00 each and don't last long as toys.

Exactly the same as dawgs!

I agree with Shelley that the shampoo should be diluted A LOT. If not it's very easy to leave some in the coat, which is a good Rx for a hot spot.

Wash our dogs? are we supposed to do that? My SAR K9 has never had a bath and she is nearly 7. My show line dogs, most of the time don't even get bathed before a show. No need to bathe a dog unless it gets into something that makes having it in the house near you unbearble. A good brushing, and a baby wipe or two usually are all my dogs need to clean up nice.
