I personally believe that supply vs. demand outweighs the currency strength of the Euro. The demand in our pink papered puppies has also decreased due to the excellence in breeding practices of local breeders (be they in the US or elsewhere). I however believe, one will find the greatest discerning interest in titling dogs in Germany. The EU has made it possible that the market in training dogs has crossed into the former Eastern Europe. I believe we will see more dogs coming back titled from countries such as Poland, Hungary and similar countries. Would I send my dog there?
I only go where I have good experience or am referred to. And this just happens to be Germany. But these new markets will flourish given the large disparity in earnings.
I buy American dogs from breeders that follow the SV rules and like to bring them back to Germany as proof of the soundness of our breeding programs. The first GSD I owned I flew from Germany to TN and brought her back to Germany with me. A good dog, is a good dog regardless from whence it comes.
