We have had one litter, they are working lines.  Mother is V-rated, Sch3, FH1, Kkl1, HD-a1. Father is SG-rated, Sch3, FH1, Kkl1, OFA excellent. Both parents have excellent temperaments, mom loves everybody and is very strong when working.  You can have the best of both worlds.

Thank you, clewsk9s!!!

Also, Thank you, von symphoni,
that was well stated.

As for animules, after raising 8 children of my own,
I have realized high standards are for snobby selfish
people, and I like to work with what God has given me,
and if I have to make lemonade out of lemons,
than so be it.

Wow, I was not expecting that.   I said good for Theo, you should be glad he passed. sorry you took it so wrong.

I happen to be proud of our female and when you asked if we had bred, I answered to let you know the best of both worlds could be had.  If I would have known your reaction I would have not answered.  If you didn't want the answer, don't ask the question.    First time I've been considered snobby selfish for being proud of my dogs...

Sorry for being so dramatic, animules,

but I'm going to quit while you're ahead.............

Mira's Mom-accept the "Fair" as a passing score. If you never plan to breed, then you know your female has sound hips that will probably be trouble-free all her life. Elbows are tougher-no questions there.

If you did plan to breed, then a lot of pedigree, progeny, and sibling study would be in order for both she and the sire. Anyway-congratulations on a passing score!

Regards,

Bob-O

I have no faith in OFA anymore. I only participate with that org because its the standard in this country.

When I really want to know what's going on for breeding stock, I will do PennHip from now on.

Excellent thoughts, von symph.

I would add that I think the fact that Germany considers "fair" to be acceptable as proof positive that the SV is NOT the end-all be-all of standards or true gods of goodness.  They are subject to silly whims and cliquish behavior like everyone else.

And frankly, there are so many problems with so many GS, I wish they'd stop obsessing on HD and start rating OTHER health problems.  You'd think HD (and even ED) was the only thing GS have to worry about.

My GS is rife with allergies; so was my sister's old dog and her current.  And they're all Euro lines.  Allergies are extremely expensive and time-consuming, if nothing else.  And vets will tell you GS have lots of problems with this.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.  Dogs with degenerative myolepathy seem to be too many.

The sad thing is many of these dogs are bred, often before the problems are discovered, and spread the agony.  Never mind that they could keep being bred after discovery.  It's not as if any org is stamping them as "currently unbreedable" or anything when it's found out.

Are you kidding me??  That is precisely the reason the GSD is in the state that it is in!  The only reason you should breed is to improve the breed, not just create more of them to make a buck!  As I said in my previous post, I was not trying to bash you at all, but after looking at your site and seeing your stud is coated and none of your dogs are titled I rest my case, the site speaks for itself.
