Funk Man,
i clean the kennel every other day and i use bleach.
i completely bleach the entire kennel and i let it sit for about 1 or 2 minutes and the rinse with a high pressure hose.
i constantly clean both food and water bowls every night.
i have seen some improvement but it has not completely been removed
when i had spoken with the vet he told me that after 6 days of uses flagyl, come back and we can test her again. if the giardia is completely gone then we will vaccinate her. if it is not gone we will have to continue medication.
do you think this is an efficient way, w/ everything that i am doing or should i do more?

Let the kennel area SOAK for an hour. Pour a bucket of solution on the dog house, chain link kennel pieces, any surface in the area. Most importantly, give it time to work. As I stated before, giardia has it's own armor! Bleach DOES permeate & break down this casing if given enough time.
One hour soaking to be sure.

Use a hose end sprayer or a pressure washer with an infusion system to clean the kennels, doghouses, etc.. Quick and easy.

MKMina, I worked for a vet in Col for 1 1/2 years. we saw lots of puppies with Giardia. We gave them flagyl for at least 7 days. Sometimes we had to do several rounds of it to clear it all up. To some degree some dogs are carriers and will always have giardia in there systems and stress can set them off. But that is not always the case. Some puppies were not getting over the giardia or having relapses so we would give them the vax to help there system get over it . We had a lot of hunting dogs that would come in every year for the vax and were fine. Some vets say that giardia may be to some degree part of a dogs system. I wish you luck and take care. Jennifer
