A vaginal culture and sensitivity is very important and should be done every time you breed, most stud owners will want it if they are smart. Especially if the breeding is a natural cover. In addition to good bacterial flora, you may find an overgrowth of other "things" not so good, and mycoplasma is one of the foremost causes of reproductive issues. And her overall health doesn't matter, sje could be fine and still have something that would culture... it's really so simple and yet people resist it so.
Personally, I am sold on progesterone testing and am very fortunate that my vet has her own machine so my results are obtained and evaluated in house and quickly! there are different tests and different ways to interpret them.
A good repro vet is a godsend.. and like molly said, it is what is it or isn't....
She is young, if it doesn't go this time.. then there is next time..

Gsdlvr2, I meant to say, when you bred her on the sixteenth day , she may have not still been
ovulating, cause you can still have a good tie, & come up empty.
Too bad there isn't a pregnancy test for dogs, it's just kind of a wait & see game.
