"Serious Inquiries Only" means one of two things in my experience:

1) Don't window shop and waste time if you're not planning on buying a dog at all in the near future;

OR

2) Open your wallet and be prepared for a high price.

And yet another good reason to list price, Naya's Mom!  <grin>

I personally like to see the price only because there's no point in getting your hopes up for a dog you can't afford.  It's not even a matter of bargaining, if I can afford what you're asking and it's what I want I have no problem giving it to you but I too don't like to waste my time.

If I am looking to buy,  I much prefer to see prices listed...  The last thing I want to do is waste someones time,  but I will NOT begin a conversation about a dog with  "How much are you asking for him/her ? "    That too is rude in my OP

We do list prices but ultimately have the say so in who's money we accept and who's we choose not to.

No harm No foul...

I don't list prices on my site, it just rubs me the wrong way to make my dogs look like a piece of merchandise. That's just me, I guess. A good west german dog is getting so overpriced, I think if someone takes the time to email me, they are pleasantly surprised tio find my dogs at the lower end of the markert in price.

Second, if you can't take the time to drop me an email, why would I think you have time for one of my puppies? I've dealt with some nuisance callers myself, I simply tell them they should research the market for a pup with titled parents to get a median price, and if titles are unimportant to them and they want to spend under $300, I tell them to go to GSD rescue.

I am also very flexible on my prices for police, military, etc like someone else said, and equally flexible for a proven working homes. As I've mentioned before, I also drop the price a bit if the buyer agrees to let me show the dog a few times.

Seeing a price range on a breeders site under buyer info or something doesn't bother me, I guess I'm a bit sensitive about seeing a ton of pictures with price tags slapped on them, makes me feel like I'm walking into an online pet store.

  I personally like prices ,  being listed.

My first impression is the dog.

Second impression is the price.

IF both of these fit what I am looking for, I will then call to talk about the dog.   See what the temperment is like etc.   Depending on what I want the dog for.

I put prices on my site.   I prefer to be Straight forward.    It does weed out the pain in the butt people.   They really would have no reason to bother me with the repetative questions that so many window shoppers ask.       If I have a deal on a dog or puppy, I will list that seperate from the main prices.

Just my input

I feel if the price isn't posted, they must want too much. I feel like an ass having to email someone to ask whatthey want for the puppy. Dogs is another story. Ther are a million questions you can ask about a dog. Training, video, temp...on and on, before you ask about price.
