brittney...beautiful dog, now before you read, please, please don't think im being critical, im just curious about something....last weekend this guy that use to breed GSD's told me that he can tell when a dog has HD, by looking at it...he said that if their hips don't stand straight up, like if one is a little to the side (like zambi's is in her younger pic), he sayd that is bad and means HD or that it can cause arthritis....i told him that i thought it was normal for a young pup to sit on one hip, on it's side, he said letting them sit like that would cause arthritis.....is any of this true? please don' be offended, im just  curious if any of it was right...

iluvmyGSD, If you don't mind me asking you this question.... just who is this guy who can detect HD in dogs? What's his credentials? He must have some special talent where he can use his eyes as an X-ray machine. I can assure you that Zambi isn't even close to having HD. You may checkout her results from OFA at http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=1224598#animal to clarify that she doesn't have neither ED or HD. I'm actually very concern about this guy whom you were speaking about. You said that he use to breed German Shepherds (thank god he stop) and could have the ability to detect HD in dogs. When he was breeding... Did he ever submit any Hip/Elbow X-rays films to OFA before breeding his dogs or did he automatically assume that his dogs are fine?

Unless if this guy is a certified and licensed radiologist who specialized in HD.. His opinions are his opinions and shouldn't be taken seriously.

ahhh, I wonder if my camera has a remote that came with it.  Could come it handy.  :)  I have a tripod, then maybe I will try the solo stacking.  My two will stand stay.  Just have to work on the stand stay stack part.

Sometimes, dogs that hump their owners legs out to dominate, develop HD.

This is zambi mating. Probably caused the dysplasia/ lazy leg.

My god, who would take a picture of a dog humping someone's leg? SICK

by funk man on 28 August 2007 - 21:08

It is very sick. I think it is right up there with Michael Vick.
Forcing dogs to pose in hump-shots? Grody.

Thanks Funkman! More stuffs to send to the Attorney Generals office! Keep it up :)

More stuffs? What the hell is stuffs? The word stuff is plural. There is no such word as stuffs.

The Attorney General should definately be interested in seeing your doggy-porn pics. It is illegal you know. :)
