" my male is more interested in just pleasing me, bc he didnt want to play, work, or get food from the trainer "
What does that have to do with if he can go to a SchH3 or not?? What did he do to test both dogs? Don't give up. I only went to a SchH 1 with mine but nobody thought he could do it either. I was working towards a SchH2 when hubby went and busted his femur and life as I knew came to a stop for a long time. After that I just phased out I guess....

Don't focus too much on the titles. Take one step at a time.
If your dog can do SchH2, he most likely will also be able to do SchH3. A lot depends on the handler too, not just dog’s abilities.
Teaching your dog to track for SchH1/2/3 is a very good start on the way to FH title. But again, if you have never tracked before, I would focus more on how to get your dog started properly, so that he/she doesn’t have any issues that will have to be fixed later on, vs. on how to get FH.
Have fun!

Trailrider : i said that bc when he was evaluating the dogs he noticed the difference between the two. that the female is more stubborn and more independent while my male is more dependent on me and more confident when im there. So i said that because he's a complete different dog when i am not around. He didnt want to do anything. but when im there he's all over the place, wanting to work, play, etc. I assume he stated that because i had planned on leaving him there to be trained (bc of the distance from my home) and him only working with me would conflict with the training...make sense?
and thanks to all for your positive responses!!

Whoever evaluated your dogs has one hell of a good eye. To know what level your dog can achieve, before it has even been trained past sit and stay. Maybe I could hire them to let me know just how far my dogs could go if I was to desire it. That way I wouldn't even have to ACTUALLY take the dogs that far, and could just breed them as they are and tell the puppy buyers that my dogs were evaluated and CAPABLE of achieving this or that title.

I didn't realise you were leaving him with this trainer. I suppose he may or may not work, depends on the trainer and if the dog will bond or respond when your out of the picture. Personally it makes me cringe to send out a dog (or horse) for training. I have heard some horror stories, more with horses though I guess. Keep us posted on how it goes.

well with all the stories and videos of those horrible dog trainers im a bit hesistant to leave him there. but since a trainer i know locally strongly recommended him and since ive met with him personally im a little more at ease. If my dog can bond and or respond too the trainer i'll leave him up here for about a month ( and most likely visit him in two weeks).

I aim to please, so here it goes.
His website is www.canineheadquarters.com
I myself have had the pleasure to meet Dave years ago to evaluate my dog. He has given me advice in purchasing my next dog. I attended a seminar given by him and have had the pleasure to listen to him on different occaisions. And although like any trainer, he is not god, I have always appreciated his approach and his attitude towards his dogs. So if you are close, then drop him a line or at least see what he has to say.
I always tell my clients that there is no way that I can or will guarantee anything but I will give them my best educated guess. What they choose to do with it is up to them.

triple crown is all about Money even though Rob Dunn has had some awesome dogs and seems to be highly recommended I dont know that I would leave my dog there...Id go to Dave Kr and let him evaluate.and go from there....Thats a lot of money to do a title and y not be the one to do the training.....Id look into buying an already title schH 3 male for the price your gonna spend at Triple Crown.....If you were doing it yourself for the sport and love of it,,then thats a different thing.....
