Now to figure out where I go from here!! :)

The commercial kibble we fed our pup (NUTRO large breed puppy Lamb & Rice) contained glucosamine and chondroitin.  Is this just a marketing thing or is there any benefit (or negative effect for that matter) in adding these two things to the mix?  Thanks for any info...
