3 months --that's fantastic -- i have seen 12 week pups with the gumption to take you on .. that is iwhat is expressed in their puppy attitude .. i once had a 10 week pup who turned around on a friend , who thought he was doing a so called foolish text book style dominanced test .. when he put the pup down it launched right back into his lap and bit him ! believe me .. that attitude followed right through the growing years with him .. your 3 month old .. sounds like a heck of a dog !

Julie,
I like your pup. He looks like he has potential. Just a bit of advice, I would take some weight off him. He has some good bone, but that is still way too heavy. You posted some pics awhile back and some people suggested it then. I would really consider taking 5 pounds off him. Those big guys can have some real problems with Pano and/or joints. They need all the help they can get.
Just a little advice, take it for what it's worth. I do like your little puppy.

Get A Real Dog... i know, he was to big at the time , but he's slimed down some since, it seems like he will get fat a couple weeks, then get taller and slim up the next couple, then get fat again, but he never actually looks fat to me, his tummy always looks sunk in unless he's just eaten/drank...we also hve my hubby's maw-maw next door and you know how maw-maws are..your not healthy unless you got a little meat on your bones...lol...she likes to throw my doggies biscuts (real biscuts not doggie biscuts)..she thinks we're all starvin over here cause we're to skinny..lol : ) ; ) :)
P.s. i need to take some newer pics huh? : ) lazy me...

D.R.-- yes what? yes he is still to big ? or yes big bones are a good thing?

by DesertRangers on 11 August 2007 - 14:08
sorry..had to leave ...yes IMO opinions big bones are good as long as it does not effect his ability to move and be athletic. Big boned does not mean overweight.
