I know how Koehler promoted poison proofing a sentry dog.  Pretty harsh use of wire and an electric charger.  I know of someone else who claims to use a shock collar to the same effect.  The only safe food is the food that comes from the handler's hand and his personal food bowl, according to Koehler's method. 

Hey Miss Vice Pres and Do Right:   I know how to poison proof a guard dog,,,,when I was with Harris Co Sher in their dog training , Robert Dodd, certified k-9 by state of Texas, and I and three others , went thru his course , for us non- officers, and it was neat.... when my husband and I bought a guard dog for our business,,,,we  had him poisonproofed...and it works....I had always heard people talk about it, but got to participate in person.......

Now take your advice and shut your mouth and listen rather than bragging that because you think you know how to poison proof a dog you aren't an idiot for not using pig rails and losing puppies.

Hi Ms. Rose.  You DO know your stuff!  I'd love to hear about how to genuinely poison proof a dog, sans Koehler Method.  I can't help but believe it would come in very handy someday.  Is there an internet site to send me to?  Or do you have to tell me the secret directly Prez to Vice Prez? LOL.

Miss vice pres elect:   It is a method used by many guard dog trainers...It is not a shock collar or wires and electric chargers....actually a gsd can hear an electric fence wire , because of their indept hearing and senses...that the working line dog usually is well endowed with...all the senses that are used to discern the crook when he approaches.....the method of poison proofing  used by the trainer , from the trainers sent to my garage to do our gsd use the chemical treatment method..that is the same treatment that was shown and taught to me in Houston at the seminar I attended.....

This was in the years of 1994-1998 that I watched this method done...I do not know if there are those on the board that have the new and approved method of doing the poison proofing or not...This was for a business not home proofing....I think , possibly , you use a different method for a family or a home....does the same thing, I would think....The object is the dog to never touch the meat or food thrown thur a window or under the door or in to the fence portion of business where dog is protecting..maybe we can start a new thread on this...dont want to ruin this one....
