Don Corleone

by Don Corleone on 01 August 2007 - 18:08

I bought a full length fur coat one time.  I only wore it once.  Sad to say, everyone laughed at me.  Why is it that only brothers can pull that look off?  I am no longer a long coat lover!

i think he's beautiful. i have a long coat too, but mine is neutered. i know long coats crop up because of recessive genes, but i thought it was not a desirable trait in a gsd. don't misunderstand me, i love the looks of them, and would have another in a heartbeat, but don't the standards discourage deliberate breeding?

Wow! I agree with everyone who already said he looks a little heavy, but otherwise I LOVE his color and his expression! He is a VERY good looking boy without a doubt. Don't forget to get him OFA / a-stamped if you can, and be sure to do your research : )

Again you have a VERY VERY nice boy there !!!!!!!

It would not surprise me if the SV will change their mind about Long Stock Coats within the next few years and will allow them to be shown as a variety and reinstate their breeding status. This would be a direct reaction to the competition they have in Germany. There are two separate clubs for Long Coats, one is more geared for the workinglines and the other for showlines. Both hold trials, shows and breed surveys. So, let's wait and see.

Meanwhile, I sell my long coat puppies for a pet price on limited AKC registration. But I have to say they are beautiful.

Great looking boy you have.  It's easy to think that a "coat" is overweight when looking at a picture because of all that hair,  What does he weigh?

Chris, I hope you are right. If so, I have a young girl that is going to kick a#^!!
