Hes a handsome boy, I agree a little too much weight. It is kind of weird to see such light eyes with such a heavy dark mask. I also prefer a dog with a lighter mask. My male has a dark face and his eyes are dark, my female has more of a mask and her eyes lightened as she got about 1 year, My boy just turned a year and his eyes are still dark. But your guy is still very cute and has good expression. Check his hips before you breed.

Beautiful dog. I'm curious about how you have a hip rating on the database.

good looking dog, but i'd watch to make sure that he's not too heavy while he's growing.

Gshprdsrul, you will find many around here expect far more then just hips and elbows done before breeding, or even considering breeding. Schutzhund titles are a bare minimum along with hips/elbows. Others can explain fully. BTW, welcome.

Gshprdsrul, and anyone else who is NEW Be careful, This is a grumpy bunch, might want to read the thread TITLED to All Newbies, consider this first.

Echo! I am beginning to feel that you have a HUGE chip on your shoulder, hun. Maybe it's time you find a different place to post if you're not happy here any more?????? Just a thought. Seems like you are a very angry person to me and have to let something out with each post? Hmm, JMO

We were asked to give our opinions and that is what we are doing. don't ask for input if you only want to hear how cute your dog is. this is not a board of pet people, this is a board with serious breeders, trainers and gsd enthaustics and know gsd;s and can give you valuable input on your dog but we all realize the limitations of doing so thru just a pic but we all try to be helpful. sometimes new people have a less than quality dog and in some cases have been taken advantage of by a breeder. they need to know the quality of their dog before they breed it etc..
we all have said this looks like a overall nice boy. i agree it is very important to keep the weight under control for all dogs andfor all ages. they will lead a much longer healthier life if their weight is controlled plus the benefits of keeping excess weight off their joints.
