Maine is one of those states that does not have an Attorney General ADA task force. Been there. Have filed a complaint with Maine Disability Rights Center and am currently filing a Title 2 complaint with the assistance of the USDOJ.

I've watched this messageboard for some time now but never really posted anything more than a question or two about dogs. It has been interesting and a little dismaying how there are those who just seem bent on picking apart things that are posted. This should not be a forum for beating each other up. It should be a site of commaradie. Maybe it is just human nature. I have more questions than answers as the years go by.Many thanks to those who offer their positive feedback.

The FBI investigate Police Departments that "break the Law" this is a "Federal Law" that the locals are violating therefore I recommended the FBI.
He could also contact His State Senator ETC. The Attorney General's Office was a good suggestion.

s vargas, I am in total agreeance with you on "being part of the solution and not part of the problem". I use that sentence quote verbatum often. I am in agreeance with you also on the law is the law. That is why I am taking a stand on this matter. BECAUSE I AM PROTECTED BY LAW! I just think that you misunderstood the particulars. Nevertheless, let's try to be NOT so abrasive.
Thank you

s vargas,
Let's imagine that you have a dog that does detect your seizures. Does that mean that you cannot do Schutzhund? If the dog was the one having the seizures, then, maybe you should not do Schutzhund.

Jim
My guess is that you are only giving half of the story. You are a notorious hothead. Im guessing that you freaked
out and got your a_ _ in a jam and now it's poor little Jimmy. All I can say is what comes around goes around man.
Learn to keep your freakin mouth shut,,,you ain't in Jersey any more.

Guess on Jonny021. It's the full story. Tell me ,"what went around" that brought you out of the woodwork? Maybe I pissed you off with honesty once sometime in the past? Not a notorious hothead. Just tell it like it is! Bash with facts, not guesses and conjecture. I invite you to email me direct and discuss your beef. Did I damage your ego at some point in time that I am not aware of?

Sounds like our town. All I can say is good luck. And please do not put you and your dog in a situation where the LE would have a ligitimate reason to harm him. Demanding to be arrested is one of those situations. He should be attending the town meetings with you as your service dog, He should be everywhere you go as your service dog. Perhaps, just perhaps, if he was seen in public with you and it became known he was your service dog the general public would start coming out in support of you. I am assuming he is totally safe in public and crowded conditions, if he isn't then this could backfire.

Ditto on sounds like our town!! I am so sorry for you Jimmy. I wish I could help monetarily but I just did a donation to the Mattia's and just can't help everyone. Wish I could! Please keep us posted on what the outcome is on this. I can imagine how you feel, seems like more and more rights are taken away and if you want to stand up for them you better have alot of money to pay for a lawyer. Just not right.

Thank you anmules. He does go everywhere with me, including the town meetings. He's been on airplanes. He wears a placard identifying him as a service anilmal. I have not had any problems in the past. Airports, hotels, restaurants, libraries, post offices, stores, hospitals, doctors visits. The dog is a total gentleman. Pulls the luggage in airports, gets my mail out of the mailbox, brings me things in the house, picks up the dog bowls after feeding. I was homebound and pretty much bedridden for 6 months about a year or so ago having to do a medical treatment. I utilized those months to train him to do a mutitude of things in the house. Differentiate between the phone, the remote, a set of keys. No he does not open the fridge and get me a beer, I don't drink. :).
I thank those of you that were willing to and did offer positive feedback
