Has anybody used horse or goat meat as part of their raw diet?  I've seen beef, lamb, turkey, chicken, pork, and venison mentioned.

My dog tried horse once!  Those things are really fast!  Didn't even get a taste.

Yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, green tripe, etc. were listed as part of the Muscle Meat and extras on the handout they had.

One thing they really stressed on the veggies was that they need to either be pulverized or lightly steamed for the dogs to digest them properly.   And to keep the bones size appropriate.   They, also, surprised me with a recommendation to feed mice and chicks (the kind you buy for a pet snake) to toy breeds.  I just can't see myself buying mice for a pup's dinner.  It was a good program with folks that have been feeding Raw for more than 10 years (the one lady is a sheep rancher and her family has fed basically RAW for several generations).

Both of my dogs like broccoli, aspargus, green beans, carrots, cauliflower for their veggies.  I've, always, kidded that I wouldn't have any training motivation issues with my male rescue if I could just figure out a way to carry steamed brocolli in my pocket.  My girl really likes all the melon type of fruits (watermelon, cantelope, etc) and carrots as a chewie treat.

LOL I just so happen to have a litter of 13 baby rats. I by product of our snake feeding days. We just got rid of the snakes last month. A friend just came by last night to take one to feed her Bearded Dragon. I was a bit bummed. I though we would finally have a sacrifice free litter. Oh well 12 left. I just can't see feeding them to my dogs though.  My conscience will feel better letting them wean off mom and then take them to the pet store for credit. I didn't even like feeding the snakes. If I was that hard core, I would raise rabbits again for my RAW program. I'd rather have the meat already dead with no heart beat.
