Did not someone say the other day... Mushy,  and oh this is a GSD site.

Love the photos personally,  but am shocked no one is freaking out about it.  Thank You Ninja and Badpuppy for being brave enough to share so the rest of us can enjoy.  Lord knows if I had posted them I'd be getting smacked for it.   :-)

Ninja

Thank you! I had tears in my eyes, I was laughing so hard.

These guys are so cute, I am ALMOST tempted to trade in my GSD's. I just can't imagine a Corgi on the suit. Not any higher than the knee anyway. I'd have to learn ring sport.   LOL

At the very least the land mines would be cut in 1/2. God only knows how long the dog food would last? Hmmmm...I'm really contemplating now!

[cough] Er, good friend of mine, currently has a pup or two she's trying to place, and she's a VERY responsible breeder... http://www.cheysuli.com/cardigancorgis/ Cardis look kind of like miniature GSD's!

Very  nice Sunsilver. I love the tri color and merls. However I want a Pembrook, no tails and smaller I believe?

Yes, that's true, 4Pack. But Cardis are actually big dogs with short legs. The males can weigh up to 40 lbs. Should make a GSD lover feel right at home, especially this:

The Cardigan is a shedding breed with a double coat very like a German Shepherd's. There are two major seasonal shedding periods, but some shedding occurs throughout the year, especially in hot climates. Cardigans are not recommended for families where allergies or loose hair are significant concerns.

Combine that with the long, brush-like tail, and the erect ears, and the GSD lover should feel right at home with this breed!  :)

If I get something other than a GSD, I don't want the tail slapping things around the house or me on the face in the car. I want a pocket dog so to speak. I have a smaller home and my GSD's make it feel smaller when inside. Anybody know how well Corgi's potty train? I know allot of small breeds can be a real "shitter" pun intended. I have been looking into tri colored Dachies too the mini ones. Smooth coated to have less hair in the house but they tend to have allot of temperament issues and like to crap in the house. I know thats not a shoe in but God I would be pulling my hair out if I had to pick up little tootsie rolls off the carpet daily! For me, small dog=house dog, thats the whole point of getting a different breed. So I would want ease of training/good with people/kids/easy on the furniture.

I have a friend with a Pembrook. She is the cutest little thing, not tiny but small enough. I like them for the fact they are sturdy too and a little smarter than non working breeds. That may fair better with me and the GSD's.

4pack, given my experience at the vet with Daschunds, I would NEVER EVER get one!! They were always coming in with paralyzed hind ends, due to that loooong back, and boy, were some of them VICIOUS! One of the ones that had lost the use of his rear legs was so vicious I used a catch pole to handle him, in spite of him being paralyzed. They have a pretty long reach with those teeth due to the flexibilty of that long spine!

Pems are pretty cute. They call them 'bunny butts' due to the stubby tail, and the way they move. They are crossed with spitz type dogs, while the Cardi is the original Welsh corgi. (See the history of the breed on the Cheysuli site.)

My personal choice of a small dog would be a Yorkie. We had one called Tiffany that used to come in to the vet for boarding fairly frequently, and she had SO much personality and charm, we used to joke we were going to kidnap her some day!

I have an aunt who used to have Yorkies. They do have personality but they hair care is a no for me. I don't want to do groomer trips and they seem to foo foo for me. You stated exactly why I havn't snagged up a Dachie yet.

I love the little "bunny butts" the little swank they have when they move is too cute.

4pack, here's an adorable picture for you then!  http://www.nvo.com/glyn/pictures/view.nhtml?profile=pictures&UID=10103

I think the GSD is none other than Dallas (Kismet's Sight for Sore Eyes).
