I have not raised my voice to my dogs in the house in 20 years...its the autouritative disappoining tone that gets them. This am he refused to bring the ball to me. He would retrieve and drop it 3 ft away...new tactic...I would just leave...5 times he finaly picked up ball on command and brought it to me but would not release....I stared him down and in low disapproving vioce gave the command and he finally dropped the ball at my feet reluctantly. He is a west German typical VA showlines Yasko times Neptune V rated daughter. Very quick reflexes and does well in ring. My DDR bitch can beat him in a race with her natural gait by 10 feet on a retrieve. She has not changed. I have never been bitten by one of my dogs. I remember Leerberg requesting vids of homes with 3 dogs. Pack mentality develops. With 2 I am now the alpha to test...not worried. Had much harder dogs than him. We go up north Friday and it willl be interesting to see the change. "Boss" is the alpha of the pack wanting little to do with the youngsters except keep them in line. Need to put shock collars on the 2 young ones on a windy day. Otherwise they chase deer through trap lined wetlands. On a calm day the deer stay clear.
