No, I do not think it is a good idea to pass laws/ordinances/whatever requiring all pets be spayed or neutered.
by EchoMeadows on 11 June 2007 - 04:06
Ok change the wording to Intact animal fee, rather than breeder license.
by harddawg on 11 June 2007 - 05:06
We have enough fees in California, thank you very much.

No-----I am not having my dogs' ba/ls cut off for anyone's agenda. Could list a multitude of reasons. Here's one-------I have one very sharp boy.....vet visits are never a biggie for him.........stress level skyrockets----anesthesia takes it's toll----his already questionable immune system is further compromised......and all my efforts to enhance immunity goes right down the drain. Here's another----Just to keep the never-ending, money-hungry lawmakers from my door.......I don't think so. I'll fight back..........................starting with ridding some of our already overpopulated gov't agencies and politicians from their respective positions. Sick to death of them all-----money, money, money....fees, fees, fees. (Ordinances will never solve the problem----the corrupt dog people will get free passes from the corrupt gov't people (as with all types of corruption)---the only one's affected by new ordinances will be the already responsible dog owner. No more fees, thank you. Or should I say to officials.....NO MORE MONEY.....Go find some other patsy to victimize.

Very good LMH.

LMH unfortunately your exactly right, "The only ones who would abide by the rules" if you will, are the ones who currently behave responsibly all on they're own. WHY though... well from what I have seen (in our local area) it's a lack of enforcement, I don't think anything will ever get done in this area because you can't even get LEO to enforce State Animal Laws, (much less ever get them to enforce an Ordinanace LOL)
Cali (from my understanding) has a pretty good enforcement in place already, So I would have to agree with what I have heard of they're specific plans that would be too much as it was put "big brother watching over your shoulder" I would have to agree with everyone on that specific bill.
I was not reffering to that specific bill.... I was simply answering the question on the top post.... In general I do beleive the "General" public should take more responsibility in having PETS sterilized. I think just about everyone here agrees with that, as most of use that little box on the AKC papers when there is an obvious fault, (coat, color, teeth, cript, whatever) we (most of us) blacken that little box, which in my opinion says we agree with sterilization of the PET dog. This is only my interpretration and my attempt to explain it. Thanks respectfully Mitch :-)

Taking more responsiblity and cramming it down peoples throats with ordinances and laws like you want to do are two different things. Stop playing big brother with others when you get so defensive when people tell you the proper protocal to follow prior to breeding your own dogs. You tell me what the difference is between your non-titled dogs being bred and any other pet breeder. No a BH doesn't count and No "I'm working toward their titles" doesn't count. You can't have it both ways so stop playing big brother here.

Not a good idea.
by EchoMeadows on 11 June 2007 - 16:06
animules and anyones else have the right to your own opinion, As far as locally and in our area, I would say I should also have the same right to my opinion, Here the problem is way beyond grotesk and lucky me I get to pick up the bodies, Of course I would have a strong opinion on the issue. THE ISSUE is or should I say the question posed was, Should states require pets to be sterilized, Keyword is Pets. the average pet I do beleive should be sterilized so that "unwanted litters" don't occur.
Oh nevermind, you'll never read it with any understanding or comprehension anyway.
Your right all pets should breed at will.

by sueincc on 11 June 2007 - 16:06
Don't do that, Echo. Nobody said all pets should be bred. Anytime people disagree with you, you do this. You are breeding pets, so maybe people find it a little frustrating when people who breed pets try to tell others what to do with their pets.
