Hi she looks nice. Is 13lbs her weight at 8-9 weks old?????

by altostland on 02 June 2007 - 23:06

Yes - 13 lbs at 9 weeks.  While she does produce nice pups, Cezilia's litters are large (10 and 11) and her mothering instinct peters out early - so her pups start out somewhat smaller.  Once they've been on solid food a while they pick up nicely however.

Oh Ok i know that is low weight for ddr pups

thank you all for your very nice comments!! She is a pistol, and she also eats up a storm. She is on the small side but like Judy has stated to me, the way I take care of my dog's she will be up to the weight she should be in no time. She is a bicolor, and that is what I wanted. She is full of energy and is fearless. I can't say how happy I am with her, she acts like she already belongs with my fur coated family.

Thanks again

Kel

Best wishes to you, Kel.  Don't get all jacked up over her weight just yet.  Feed her a premium diet, give her exercise, and Nature will take care of the rest.

Small dogs have some advantages over their larger brethren anyway.  They could potentially be faster, more agile, and put less stress on their joints from jumping and twisting.   The breed appears to be getting a little oversize anyway.  Could be an American ego thing - certainly most of the pet people I know think bigger is better, and no good comes of that.

Thank You SchHBabe, I'm not worried to much about her weight, because I know it will catch up to her. I've had very good results with all the varieties of Canidae so I know in time she will fill out. She is just such a cutie and is not afraid of any of my bigger dog's and pups. Lena and my 93 LB Pit Bull mix are two peas in a pod. He chases her and then she chases him, it's so cute how gentle he can be with her, when he's so much bigger.  I am so happy with her, and I think she feels the same, as vocal as she is,hehe!!!
