thank you all for your very nice comments!! She is a pistol, and she also eats up a storm. She is on the small side but like Judy has stated to me, the way I take care of my dog's she will be up to the weight she should be in no time. She is a bicolor, and that is what I wanted. She is full of energy and is fearless. I can't say how happy I am with her, she acts like she already belongs with my fur coated family.

Best wishes to you, Kel. Don't get all jacked up over her weight just yet. Feed her a premium diet, give her exercise, and Nature will take care of the rest.
Small dogs have some advantages over their larger brethren anyway. They could potentially be faster, more agile, and put less stress on their joints from jumping and twisting. The breed appears to be getting a little oversize anyway. Could be an American ego thing - certainly most of the pet people I know think bigger is better, and no good comes of that.
