a website is a good idea, a tribute to our fallen heros.  Has the domain name triggerhappycops.com been taken? or dogkillerswithbadges.com? or mydogwasmurdered.com?

I think a web site is a good idea to make the public aware of what happened to Max and other dogs as well. Can't find the news story right now, but there was a Rotweiler shot and killed in this area last summer by a cop who answered a barking dog call. Apparently the Rottie was tied up and didn't do anything but bark. Fortunately, in that case the cop was fired.

"Seriously" seeks to rationalize bad/criminal behavior by smearing one who was served a subpoena?

Max the dog was Executed, had a gun clip emptied on him probably less than 5 feet away by a Rogue cop that should now be fired, fined & working security detail with No gun, at a Wal Mart.

We dont yet live in a police state..I hope we have more rights than this & that justice is served.

I think a website is SUPER DUPER !!! How do we do it ???? We could sell advertisements to pay for the site... Who wants to be the "Domain" of this site ????

How 'bout www.seriouslybent.com?

by LMH on 31 May 2007 - 19:05

seriously---I do have to admit, those website titles were tongue-in-cheek amusing, but after catching up on the threads just now, the one comment I have to make----You went after trailrider......trailrider,???.....she's such a nice lady.....whatever...here goes:

Do Right--I don't think there's anything I haven't thought of that hasn't been penned by you already.

So the consensus of opinions for those that are on the officer's side is to wait for all the evidence to come in before passing any judgment. That would be the fair and correct procedure...and the final truth.  Yes?....Well then..tell me, (people taking this side).....Is there any doubt in your minds what the verdict will be?  Really now.....be honest...If you feel in your gut that you already know the officer will be exonerated, wouldn't it be only fair for some on the dog's side to speculate and and even ask you ..Isn't it a bit hypocritical to spout that my opinion should be considered as judgmental and, also, negatively inferred as being a too-quick-to-convict (without due process) statement?

The subject of weighing in the evidence has always been a mute one for me.  Heresay, pictures, loyalties, etc. are all subject to debate that could be inconclusive.  Personal feelings aren't allowed to figure into the equation.  What has never been under debate, and generally considered the one indisputable truth-----the dog suffered horrific wounds.  The officer..??? (This fact, and this one alone, is the basis for my opinion.)  Someone on an earlier thread was commenting on what would, or should, it take before considering the dog to be a big enough threat and make one respond with deadly force....something about nip vs. full grip bite...or something similar.  Well.....Yup...I'm guilty of being a full-fledged animal geek and would probably sustain some pretty heavy damage before pulling any trigger. Then, I would die... inside. If I now continue with this train of thought, knowing full well that 'seriously' could call my next observation a purely emotional response (and rightly so), the one picture in my mind that I can't shake and come to terms with is how the officer....after having shot the dog, which caused such agonizingly mortal wounds...was then able to walk away.  Did he think the dog was dead?  Did he even check? And, if the dog was alive...do 'something'.  Either finish the job (what's one more bullet, more or less) by putting him out of is misery, or get him to a vet....Makes my skin crawl. (And, yes...I will acknowledge that I am commenting merely on heresay.)             cont.....................

So we have a standstill between the sides.  Sorry it came to this, because I do believe there are LEO's that are also as concerned as the rest of us.  But, what can they do? It wouldn't surprise me to hear that even some consider us doing them a favor by questioning---they're caught in the middle.  What does surprise me, though, is seeing so many here voicing, not just thinking, their concerns about questionable police actions.  Sadly, Max's death will probably go by the wayside, but it has so profoundly affected too many of us out of empathy or fear that even those who were once indifferent will now realize the necessity to ensure maintainence of a competent and objective policing that incorporates using a system of 'checks and balances'....thereby, benefitting both decent LEO's and civilians, alike. ------That was a long-winded sentence, I agree.....hokey (sp?), but also a little too 'on the mark' not to be said.

As to seriously (no pun) creating a website? I don't know how I feel about that one yet.  There are those decent cops that might take offense.

Trailrider

LMH thank you for the kind words! I must have missed something though, not sure where he jumped me except for the haircut thing.... That actually was a legitimate question, I am curious if PO's are shaving their heads everywhere and if it is like an intimidation tactic. Anyway thanks again!
