Breaking: Christopher #Dorner was engaged in a shootout with federal authorities in the Big Bear area, sources have told the Times

eta live feed.
another feed courtesy of zerohedge

Started with report of stolen car 12:22. Car spotted then gun fight. Suspect thought to be in a cabin with hostages. Police checking every vehicle coming off mountain. Relative of hostages claiming they are unharmed and are said to be in sheriff custody for debriefing. No confirmation that it's definitely Dorner. Though the LAPD, who are bowing out, don't seem to think it's anyone else.

Currently unloading a HUMV, possibly National Guard.

Another report feed.

Burned down the cabin he was in.

Pretty much are counting on him being dead. We'll see shortly, won't we?

My sympathy goes to the officer killed and the one wounded by him today. Apparently he was hiding out in plain sight. The media blackout forced him to make his move. And his plans were not perfect. He was just a mad, revengeful, mass murderer in the end.

The threatened families can get their lives back. Amen.

Same kind of fire as Waco, from tear gas canisters.

The video you won't see is of the armored vehicle flattening the cabin.

by beetree on 13 February 2013 - 18:02

The cops.peeled the cabin apart like an onion, I heard. No chances for that dude. I also heard he bought scuba tanks thinking to survive a fire. Now we know that isn't really a good idea, just another of his bad ideas.

Isn't it more likely that someone trained in undersea warfare might be buying scuba tanks for that purpose?
