Just a waiting game...  took 6 months for forensics to come back on a 6 yr old missing boy in order to locate where the Mothers car had been.  Happens to be in my county but the mom had been up to the Dells, WI and all over- killed herself in another City.

Amazing what they can find with a blade of grass...  The results of HEX could take a good long while also.

Given the information we had, I think our outraged responses were appropriate.

I know that this entire ordeal has stirred up a lot of emotion in the community.
I'm going to ask that until the final toxicology and autopsy results are in, people refrain from any additional speculation as to the cause of Hex's death.

Please recall that the TOS prohibit:

statements based on rumor or hearsay.

Statements made in this thread were based either on information provided by representatives/relatives of the dog's owner or came from direct knowledge or were reactions to the public record made available by the sheriff's department.
Hence, none of them are rumor or hearsay and none are in violation of the TOS.

Let me clarify the distinction:

Factual:  The Police closed the case, ruling that Hex's injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle, and an anonymous truck driver confessed to hitting the dog.

Hearsay: Hex was hit by a truck after he left an unfenced yard while unattended.

Listen to the owner of the dog.  He said that he went outside with the trash and then went back inside for more trash.  Look at the video and where is the fence across the front of the yard????  The camera pans to the beautiful manicured lawn to the road and then back to the beautiful house.

I am sure the video is around and even somewhere on this list.  I did NOT lie!!!!

Just the facts, just the facts as that detective on tv would say.

Just look at the video and his buddies also quoted the owner as saying that.

I have NOT lied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um, hearsay and lie are not the same.

I think the majority of the statements made on the PDB are either heresay or rumor on most threads.

Absolutely true Jim.

It does appear Hex was hit by a vehicle, however, something else must have been going on too, because, he was not in that spot in the initial search, and his collar was missing.  So, did he escape from the place that had him, and then tragically get hit near his home?

I hope and pray these tests reveal some of the answers, as not knowing is the worst.

No one has been accused of lying.
Hearsay/rumor is not the same as a lie.

The cause of Hex's death has not yet been determined by the Veterinary examiners.
Unless a member of this board actually witnessed Hex's death, they cannot know the cause.

I agree, k9nme.  Just the facts.
Stick to 'em, and all is well.
