Admin, you might want to add (big)Tobacco to that DDT reference ! Another typical example of lies = continuing profits.

It is pointless arguing with those who are so entrenched in their own beliefs - and care so little for those who come off worse in the process - that they insist all the time that their way is the right (literally) and only way, their interpretation of what everyone else says or said or wrote is the only correct way to interpret it, black is white; nobody who points out why they believe otherwise is allowed a point, or an opinion ... Even when bandying about words like Utopia, they put their own spin on what utopia would mean.

Such miserabilists are never happy when there are ANY improvements in living conditions for ANYONE but themselves; its a sort of jealousy. No wonder they rely on Right-wing 'reporting'
(joke) to stand for their opinions.

@miserabilists

Thanks for the laugh! Bwahahaha!

@Prager, you really need to take care of that chip on your shoulder. Your need to get me makes you lose focus. It's like when you posted a "news" story from a satirical "news" site on your forum. Even after I pointed out to you that it was fake news you couldn't delete it. So here we are with you trying again and failing. You mentioned what Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union did in the PAST. As everything they did would be in the past as they no longer exist. I'm talking about communism TODAY and globalization TODAY. When the term globalization is used today it means what I said it means. You can bring up other forms of it but if you use the term without any qualifiers it means what I said. You live in the middle of the desert away from what is going on in today's world. It's why you still think it's OK to refer to Asians as Orientals. It's 2016, not 1950.

Under communism the government doesn't control the economy? You say, and it is correct, that the government owns the economy. Well, that does mean the government controls it, no? Try sticking to something called context. Joan said that globalization is driven by communists then posts something to back that up. It turns out that it didn't as the article stated that globalization is all about an unrestricted free market which is not how it works under communism as the government does control the economy. How it is able to control it does not alter the fact that it does control it which is the opposite of what globalization is, according to the article posted by Joan.

The other thing you somehow overlooked was TPP. Again, who opposes this "communist" plan? Oh yeah, it's those on the far left. I suggest you explain to Joan what communism is, not me.

So Prager, why don't you address how Joan posted an article to prove that globalization is all about communism and it turned out it stated the opposite? Oh, I know why, you only are in it to try and get me. If this were your forum we all know you would have simply banned me for making you look stupid over and over.

Joan wrote, "The word "fascism" was coined in 1919 and was derived from the Italian word fasces, meaning “sticks.” In fascist Italy, “national and social unity was symbolized by the fasces themselves, the bound sticks being stronger together than individually.” The Mercury Dime was accused of fascism for containing the bound sticks and was replaced by the U.S. Mint during the height of World War II. As a Wellesley political science major, Hillary Clinton must have known this association when she chose the same book title as Benito Mussolini, “Stronger Together.” No thanks."

First off, fasces is not an Italian word; it is a Latin word and it refers to a symbol used in ancient Rome. It also does not mean sticks. Second, Mussolini never wrote a book with that title.

Joan, this is what happens when you rely on Amazon reviews for knowledge. Also, it's obvious that most of those negative reviews are by people who hate Clinton so I'm supposed to believe they actually bought her book and then read it?

by joanro on 15 September 2016 - 15:09

Carlo: 'Joan, this is what happens when you rely on Amazon reviews for knowledge.'

Are you really that stoopid? The comments are from people who have opened their eyes....and the comments are amusing to read. Period. 'Rely on Amazon reviews for knowledge' ? ? Good greif, carlo, you're emptier headed than I thought you were.

Hopefully other people saw the humor in those comments, and didn't look at them for 'knowledge', as Carlo would suppose any one who reads anything, is doing it for 'knowledge'....Carlo, you should get out into the real world.

Btw, carlo, the comment section on amazon is open for all, not just hillery critics....so where are the advocates for her? You mean only her critics bought and read her crappy book?

Amazon is very anti trump and is in the game for hilery, so what happened that only her critics commented? My bet is that amazon will delete those posts, and create some positive ones for the hildabeast.

'Many of the newer buildings that were constructed during Mussolini’s reign where at least partially influenced by ancient Roman ruins. One of the most recurrent symbols in these buildings was the*** fasces, the ancient symbol of Roman power that gives Fascism its name.*** The fasces were a collection of bound rods that were stronger together than apart.**** Many of the buildings that were built during the Fascist reconstruction had distinctly modern designs and are relatively easy to pick out in Rome. Some of the most famous of these buildings are Rome’s university complex, sports complex and also the Esposizione Universale di Roma (EUR) located outside the city.

Here's a wiki def for you to learn from, niy. Notice that the amazon post spelled the Italian work correctly, fasces, where you misspelled the Latin word by using the Italian word in place of fasci...which is the correct spelling of the Latin word. Further, you claim a bundle of sticks have nothing to do with the symbol for fascism...wrong again. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasces

Fasces (/ˈfæsiːz/, (Italian: Fasci, Latin pronunciation: [ˈfa.skeːs], a plurale tantum, from the Latin word fascis, meaning "bundle")[1] is a bound bundle of wooden rods, sometimes including an axe with its blade emerging. The fasces had its origin in the Etruscan civilization, and was passed on to ancient Rome, where it symbolized a magistrate's power and jurisdiction. The image has survived in the modern world as a representation of magisterial or collective power. The fasces frequently occurs as a charge in heraldry, it is present on an older design of the Mercury dime and behind the podium in the United States House of Representatives, it is used as the symbol of a number of Italian syndicalist groups, including the Unione Sindacale Italiana, and it was the origin of the name of the National Fascist Party in Italy (from which the term fascism is derived).

Joan, we don't refer to you by other names I would appreciate it if you didn't use members real names unless they ask for it to be used or sign their posts with their name. If noitsyou wanted to be called Carlo he would have used that name on sign up. I know you think I am picking on you but I have asked this in the past of other members so please spare me the poor picking on you routine.

by joanro on 15 September 2016 - 16:09

Fair is fair...then noitsyou should also use my screen name, too. And you are not using my screen name either.

niy has said on oth er forums where he uses his real name that he doesn't care which screen name he is referenced as. So I used the short screen name because its easier to type...but I'll abreiviate from now on as I did here, if that's acceptable. Otherwise I won't respond to any of his posts directed to me where he uses my real name, instead of my screen name.
